I have no idea of all the facts are correct here (I'm not an expert on the topic) but there are some good sources and there is nothing promotional about the topic. Comment from the page creator during AfC to the suggestion topic would fit within [[reverberation]: This is a good suggestion but Dereverberation is a sufficiently well-established scientific topic that it would make sense also to have a dedicated page. Evidence for 'well-established' are dedicated textbook, scientific journal special issues, international benchmarking challenges, conference special sessions. Whereas the current page on reverberation is more about the physics of what causes reverb, and how this can be simulated, dereverberation is more about signal processing and adaptive signal enhancement. The biggest driver for dereverberation is for speech recognition - a massive topic - since all the speech recognition devices in daily use degrade performance in reverb. Hence, high levels of activity from many well-known, big-name stakeholders.
