Steven Mitchell 10:15, 26 February 2006 (UTC) Where did François Poisson come from? He wasn't around for Madame de Pompadour's youth, as he had to desert his family and leave the country to protect his life. It has frequently been disputed that he was Madame de Pompadour's father, which would leave him as having no relation to "Fanfan". It seems the contributor is oblivious to this discrepancy. Does the source material identify François Poisson by name? Jean Paris de Montmartel and Charles François Paul Le Normant de Tourneheim have generally been associated as possible fathers of Madame de Pompadour. At least some mention should be made of the potential discrepancy of who this girl's grandfather was.

When the names of the girl's future husband and father-in-law are disclosed in the text, they were formatted as if they were articles although they don't go anywhere special if you follow them. I followed them to see if articles of those names were deleted, and that didn't come up.

At least some mention should be made of the potential discrepancy of who this girl's grandfather was.[reply]

The overwhelming "box" that swamps this article seems to declare it as proven that Louis XV was her father. Can we delete the box until this is established? --Wetman 19:56, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. The box also contradicts the statement in the article that 'her mother was not yet serving as a courtesan when she was born'. Doesn't seem to belong here.Spyforthemoon 14:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Mme de Pompadour was NEVER a courtesan, which is a synonym for prostitute. She was the King's oficial mistress.

==Well Deserved Pwnage!!!

When the names of the girl's future husband and father-in-law are disclosed in the text, they were formatted as if they were articles although they don't go anywhere special if you follow them. I followed them to see if articles of those names were deleted, and that didn't come up. Terranovia360 (talk) 01:59, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed stub as there is not much else to say on a little girl who died when she was eleven years old. Her only fame is that she was Mme de Pompadour's daughter. Frania W. (talk) 03:35, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
