Contradiction

[edit]

The lede states there are seven consoles, but it calls the NES the first one, not the Color TV Game. It also calls the handhelds consoles, but doesn't count them in the total. This article needs a direction. ArtistScientist (talk) 05:24, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

EarthBound series didn't debut on the SNES

[edit]

EarthBound Beginnings (Mother) was released on the NES — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.134.202.2 (talk) 10:53, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Original models sold

[edit]

@Sergecross73: Why do the original 3DS sales not need to be portrayed on the infobox? Same goes for the DS and the GBA. For the PS4 it's different because the PS4 Slim and Pro do not have their own articles. The GBA SP, DSi, 2DS, etc. however do have their own pages. -- EzekielT Talk 22:44, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@EzekielT: This is not the talk page for the 3DS (or any of those articles), and this discussion shouldn't happen here. This talk page is specifically about this article, not others. -- ferret (talk) 23:54, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Why would you start a discussionhere? It has nothing to do with this article. Sergecross73 msg me 23:56, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't want to divide the discussion onto the GBA, DS and 3DS talk pages, that would make things confusing, harder to respond to, and harder to maintain. — EzekielT Talk 23:59, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@EzekielT: Then bring the discussion up at WT:VG. This article is not some sort of centralized place to discuss Nintendo console articles. -- ferret (talk) 00:01, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done. — EzekielT Talk 00:04, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

System names

[edit]

How come some systems have Nintendo before it and others do not? I frequently see Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS, 3DS, but also frequently see "Gamecube" and "Wii". Is it official that some platforms include the company name and some do not? It seems inconsistently applied.

Virtual Boy = Handheld console?

[edit]

The Virtual Boy, entirely by design, is not held in the hand. It is self-standing on a table. Why is it considered a handheld system? It's the least portable of any Nintendo system.

Nintendo Switch as home console?

[edit]

Why is the Nintendo Switch put in as a home console here and the Switch Lite is separate as handheld? None of the other consoles have their minor revisions as an entirely separate console. Because the switch works as a handheld console and a home console (and actually leans more towards handheld considering the Switch Lite), I'd say it would be a good idea to add a "hybrid" section or something.
