The school chose as its mascot the well-known figure of the [[Northwest Territories]]—the [[Royal Canadian Mounted Police]] (the "Mounties"). Fittingly with this mascot, the school colors are red and black. The school purchased a mascot costume in 2008, which can now be seen at many athletic events in the district.
