What if only 11 club from the Cymru Premier league were the only clubs that contained a Tier 1 licence and there were no clubs in Cymru North and South that had tier 1 license by the deadline, would the Cymru Premier League relegate the 11th team, to make it 10 or keep it at 11, and if it were 11, how would the spilt work.

When posted it claimed that they were in the League of Wales but my research indicates that they are still in the Welsh Football League despite winning it last year. Hi BlueValour - I have found out some info:
"Cwmbran Town FC, who finished bottom-but-one in the Welsh Premier League [League of Wales], have escaped relegation following the decision of the leading teams in the Cymru Alliance feeder league not to seek promotion. However, the league may yet have to operate with 17 teams next season after Goytre United FC, the southern feeder league winners, reneged on an earlier decision to seek promotion." (http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/news/Kind=2/newsId=429360.html)
"The Welsh Premier - the national league of Wales - kicked-off season 2006/7 with 17 clubs - one less than in the last campaign. Bottom club Cardiff Grange Quins elected to resign from the league after struggling throughout much of the season. Welsh League champions Goytre United declined the chance to move up. Runners-up Neath Athletic were unable to meet the ground criteria and, despite a late bid, their application was rejected by the clubs. Neither of the top two clubs in the Cymru Alliance had applied for promotion, thus 17th placed Cwmbran survived in the top flight, despite a 13-point deduction for fielding ineligible players. There is no route for promotion from the Welsh Premier, although the champion side is entered in the Uefa Champions League, with two clubs entered in the Uefa Cup and one in the InterToto Cup. Although only one club has been relegated in recent seasons, two clubs are normally demoted, to be replaced by the champions or runners-up of the Welsh League (south Wales) and the Cymru Alliance (north and mid Wales). This is provided those clubs have applied for membership of the Welsh Premier and meet the League's ground and infrastructure criteria." (http://www.welsh-premier.com/info.php)
I'll add relevant comments to the appropriate articles in the light of this. --Hassocks5489 12:28, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

European adventures

[edit]

I think we should get rid of the remarks section next to the list of champions and create a Welsh clubs in Europe page if needs be. Blogdroed 18:58, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
