ReqscreenshotI just wanted to point out a common mistake make by people in reference to the tv show "Charmed". A great deal of fan fiction, discussion, etc. is made in reference to Whitelighters and rightfully so. However, I have noticed a very common error regarding these beings. As listed above, the word is quite often spelled Whitelighter. However, according to the synopses on the back of the "Charmed" boxed DVD sets, it is spelled White Lighter. I have the first season boxed set and checked it out because I have always spelled it White Lighter and was interested in finding the correct spelling. While I have not seen the spelling I would also assume that Dark Lighter is spelled in much the same manner. I only post this since there are a great many fan fiction writers and it is my hope that this will help to correct an oversight in their writing.

Article is errously tagged.
In Wikipedia, this article describes Whitelighters as "characters" of a TV series, and not "beings" (mythological or not) such as muses, sirens and mermaids. So I think that the article is mistakenly tagged as 'in-universe'. And, considering that the article is almost (if not) a stub, I don't think that it's plot summary that is too long and/or overly detalied, so I'm also removing the 'plot' tag. Another tags, such as 'fansite' I'm keeping, because I agree.

Whitelighters language?

[edit]

Maybe it would be worth to mention that whitelighters have their own language (which sounds funny, by the way), as pictured in Season 3, Episode #11 (Leo talking to another whitelighter). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.204.25.5 (talk) 18:42, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whitelighters And Guardian Angels

[edit]

As seen in Someone To Witch Over Me, whitelighters are not guardian angels.

Mistake

[edit]

I just wanted to point out a common mistake make by people in reference to the tv show "Charmed".

Might be late but in the series it's spelled "Whitelighter", Paige once wrote it down and it's also spelled that way in the Book of Shadows. 78.20.227.177 (talk) 09:30, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hybrids

[edit]

Is there any proof that theres 3 are hybrids

 1. Matthew Halliwell (grandson of Piper Halliwell and Leo Wyatt)
 2. Henry Jr. (Paige's son)
 3. Twins (Paige's twin daughters)

None of the sources say anything about them being hybrids. Wouldn't it only be a guess that they received both powers? mainly paiges kids. And are we counting whitelighter/humans in the hybrids or just whitelights/witches? There is no mention of whitelighter/humans which would make people assume paiges kids are part witch. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 15:14, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there is any canonical evidence, but Paige's children would be similar to her but with a little human DNA mixed in, so surely her children would have witch/whitelighter powers. Matthew Halliwell, it would depend on which of Piper and Leo's children was their parent. If he is the son of Wyatt or Chris, they would have Whitelighter/witch powers, but if his mother was Melinda Halliwell, then he would only have witch powers.--NeilEvans 17:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't there also the chance of them not having the powers? As with billie and christys parents --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 17:37, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I never thought of that, but going by past generations of the family every generation has always had power.--NeilEvans 17:38, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
None of the past generations have been hybrids either --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 17:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I assumed that was because they had always married mortals. So technically they are hybrids human/witches. But as mortals don't have any powers they are magically full witches.--NeilEvans 18:42, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Matthew Halliwell is clearly a hybrid due to his demonstrated power of telekinetic orbing. Paige's children would be hybrids in the sense of having Whitelighter ancestry even if they didn't have powers. It is, however, unlikely they don't have powers, since almost all of the Charmed Ones' male ancestors have been mortal and yet no one in the line has been mortal. Either Billie and Christy's parents were rare anomalies or it's due to those strong Warren genes. -- Noneofyourbusiness 02:29, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any proof that it was matthew orbing the object in magic school? He was never called by name in the series. And anything for paiges kids would still be speculation. All the halliwells were "pure" witches, none of them had whitelighter, cupid or any other magical being mixed in, so they all had powers (most likely because of their strong magic). Also, who said all the halliwell/warrens had power??? For all we know one of their relatives could've been mortal. There is a chance paiges kids could be mortal, full whitelighter, witch/whitelighter hybrids or full witch. There is no proof either way. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:39, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Matthew was called by name, by Leo. At least, according to every transcript or recap I can find. Paige's children can accurately be called Whitelighter hybrids whether they have powers or not, just as it's accurate to call Billie and Christy's parents part-witch. No speculation as to their powers is needed, and none is present in the article. -- Noneofyourbusiness 03:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of potential Whitelighters

[edit]

I do think this list is relevant, and it is Malevious who should have brought it up on the talk page before deciding to delete it. -- Noneofyourbusiness 02:51, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the list each time with a valid reason. Each time you re-add it you change nothing except the title. What makes these whitelighters notable. What makes them deserve a list. When you can answer these then maybe I'll be for adding a list. But just adding every whitelighter or possible whitelighter ever mentioned in the series is not needed. And I suggest you remember WP:Civil, instead of blame another editor right of the bat. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:56, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't blaming you, I was suggesting that a better procedure could have been followed. I think the list is a handy reference, and it gives examples of the kinds of people who become Whitelighters. Many of them have had an affect on the plotlines. If, however, a majority of other contributors think it should be left off, that's fine with me. Does anyone feel that it should be condensed, and have some thoughts as to how? -- Noneofyourbusiness 03:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's Thermokinesis

[edit]

thermokinesis is? CharliTa

Pretty much is what it sounds like. Thermo = Temperature, Kinesis = Control, therefore its the ability to control temperature, as demonstrated by leo heating a pot of tea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.188.225.176 (talk) 16:26, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
