Much of the content of Thomas J. Watson, Jr. was manually transferred from Tom Watson Jr, which was suggested for merging. |

There is a LOT of data which whoever created Tom Watson Jr page simply transcribed directly from an encyclical. It still needs to be teased out. I removed a lot of POV, but anyone is welcome to help. |

:The original page became a redir with nothing pointed to it, so I deleted it to avoid namespace pollution. Maury Markowitz (talk) 17:59, 12 January 2009 (UTC) |

==Fair use rationale for Image:ThomasWatsonJr.jpg== |

:Image:ThomasWatsonJr.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. |
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. |
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.<!-- Template:Missing rationale2 --> |

== Suggesting move to Thomas Watson, Jr. == |
The page name has a "J," in it, which is highly unusual for the wiki. Looking over the edit history, it appears this happened because there were originally two pages, TJWJr and Tom Watson Jr., and the later merged into this. I suggest removing the J., and will do so if no one complains. Maury Markowitz (talk) 23:12, 10 January 2009 (UTC) |

==Quotes== |
"If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: A man flattened by an opponent can get up again. A man flattened by conformity stays down for good. " |
"Whenever an individual or a business decides that success has been attained, progress stops." |
"Nothing so conclusively proves a man's ability to lead others as what he does from day to day to lead himself." |
"Really big people are, above everything else, courteous, considerate and generous — not just to some people in some circumstances — but to everyone all the time." |
"Every time we've moved ahead in IBM, it was because someone was willing to take a chance, put his head on the block, and try something new." |
"When my father died in 1956 — six weeks after making me head of IBM — I was the most frightened man in America. For ten years he had groomed me to succeed him, and I had been a young man in a hurry, eager to take over, cocky and impatient. Now, suddenly, I had the job — but what I didn't have was dad there to back me up". |
==Citations needed== |
The above unsourced quotes were removed, since they seem like a "trivia" section which is now deprecated. I did some work on finding citations for other info, and found some errors, and outright plagerism from the Mercer book, so it makes me suspicious. Workers on the "sharp end"? Doesn't seem very objective (or even cited) to me. Yworo (talk) 04:55, 26 August 2010 (UTC) |
