The reason Darnand was taken back to France and executed by the French rather than being tried at Nuremberg is obvious: he was French and commited his crimes on French soil. An article on the nature and extent of other all-French postwar trials and executions would be interesting if someone knows enough to write it, which I don't.05:56, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

This article mentions that Darnand "...founded his own transportation company in Nice." Paxton ''(Ibid)'' refers to "...Joeph Darnand, the Nice garage owner..." This may be a ''Rashomon''-like example of two sources seeing the same thing differently, but it might be worth clarifying in case Darnand's business was really just a gas/petrol station. The references to this article do not give any citation as to the statement that Laval was the President of Milice. I doubt that Laval was the President of Milice, and if no one can provide evidence to Laval being President I plan to edit that out of Darnand's biography.
