Merge discussion
Here Map Creator seems to contain information that fully belongs in this article as a function or subproduct of it's subject. I propose that Here Map Creator somehow be merged into Here (Nokia). <span style="color: #2F4F4F;">Steel1943</span> (talk) 13:50, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

*Merge Not substantial enough article on its own compared to Google Map Maker, a similar extension to Google Maps. I think it would be easier for readers to discover this content as a part of the Here (Nokia) article. --hydrox (talk) 13:59, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

*HERE is a business unit that is much broader function than HERE Map Creator, which is a single piece of software among hundreds owned by HERE. HERE provides in-car navigation systems with map data; they provide Maps for Yahoo Maps, Amazon Kindle, Bing Maps; they have apps in every major mobile phone platform. Map Creator is just one interface into the map data. While it is certainly related, this would be tantamount to classifying everything Google does under the Google page. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.147.238.179 (talk) 00:03, 24 July 2014 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

I suggest that HERE be merged with NAVTEQ - They are the same company, only under a different name. *Merge I was going through the various HERE offerings, and it seems HERE MapCreator is one of the offerings provided by HERE. So that should be a part of this article itself. Vishal0soni (talk) 13:07, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

*Merge Not enough primary sources for the Here app, and most of the app info is already in the Here (company) article anyway.Timtempleton (talk) 20:41, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

It really does read like an advertisement
I'm not saying the references aren't valid or anything, but it really does read like an ad. I think some rewording is in order to try to bring it back to a neutral point of view. == Acquisition ==

HERE Maps has been acquired by a consortium of German automobile corporations, after the acquisition is complete the HERE Maps article can't be named "Here (Nokia)" anymore, I suggest a move to a new name, any ideas? --58.187.228.55 (talk) 11:24, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Name capitalisation
Per WP:MOSTM the name 'HERE' should be written 'Here' on Wikipedia, unless 'HERE' is an acronym. Wikipedia does not use all-capitals or all-lowercase just because the company concerned choose to.
194.75.171.106 (talk) 10:44, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

Was it "HERE" before? As of 2016 I can only see that the official logo spells it "here". So I think the article, and particularly the phrase "(styled as HERE)" in the lede, need a workover in that respect. --BjKa (talk) 21:21, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

:Right now, the company website ( https://company.here.com/ ) consistently uses "HERE" when referring to the company. It's true that the logo spells it "here" - we'd have to ask their marketing department about that inconsistency. Sebastian (talk) 08:38, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

Merge proposal of app article
I am proposing HERE (app) to be merged into the company article. I don't feel like it should have a seperate article, and I believe it would fit good in the company article, particularly after its sale from Nokia. Give your opinions on Talk:HERE (app)#Merge proposal of app article. --G&#38;CP (talk) 22:28, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

(I am a HERE employee) The company and the app should remain separate. Most of the company's business is providing map data for vehicle navigation systems, both in-dash and portable units. HERE's largest customers are automobile companies, navigation device companies, and OEMs who make navigation-related products for automobile companies. The HERE "app" is a free consumer-focused product for smartphones (Android and iOS), which accesses that same data. To something like "HERE Technologies"? That way it's clearer and there would be no need of the "(company)" part. --Tim42 (talk) 23:19, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

**No, MikeM2011, didn't think it was necessary for that whole process. The corporate acquisition of Traffic.com was by Navteq, not HERE. The renaming to HERE was a rebranding, not a merger. Since the Traffic article was small, half fluff/clutter, generally uncited, and easy to clear from the queue, I jumped on it. Of course, you can reverse if you feel my reasoning is wrong. Merger discussion

Requesting a consensus on merging Traffic.com into this article. Here is Traffic.com's successor after Nokia acquired its former parent, Navteq; typically in these situations there aren't separate articles. The Traffic.com article is also quite dated and lacks citations, and any notable history should be integrated into the Here Technologies article. MikeM2011 (talk) 19:23, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - @GenQuest - was there a consensus to merge Traffic.com into Navteq instead? I didn't see any unless I'm looking in the wrong place. MikeM2011 (talk) 03:31, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • No, MikeM2011, didn't think it was necessary for that whole process.
