About the first fight between the two in 1996, the article claimed that Hill beat Maske "decisively". According to http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=3363, the judges decided 116-113, 115-113, 112-116(!) in his favour, which can hardly be called decisive, so I removed that adverb. (In comparison, Maske won the comeback 117-110, 117-110, 116-113.) |

:176.25.173.128, in [https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Virgil_Hill&oldid=617605670&diff=prev this edit summary] you accused me of vandalism. This is a serious charge and I would like to hear your justification for it. As I specified in my previous post, the guideline [[WP:DATESNO]] lays out acceptable date formats. It specifically states "Do not use dd-mm-yyyy or mm-dd-yyyy as they are ambiguous." My edit did not alter any of the dates, but merely their formats, so referring to it as vandalism is way out of line in my view. This is a newspaper article that the Mandan News did on Virgil Hill's last fight at 51 years of age, it took place on February 28th, 2015 in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was victorious in the second round by TKO. They chose to feature the wet plates that were taken to celebrate this last historic bout. Hill vs. Maske
[edit]About the first fight between the two in 1996, the article claimed that Hill beat Maske "decisively". According to http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=3363, the judges decided 116-113, 115-113, 112-116(!) in his favour, which can hardly be called decisive, so I removed that adverb. (In comparison, Maske won the comeback 117-110, 117-110, 116-113.) Also, Maske had announced his subsequent retirement prior to the fight, not in reaction to his defeat.
This article also states that Virgil Hill has retired. He has not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.153.178.58 (talk) 16:55, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
unexplained reversions
[edit]Anonymous user(s) at 78.148.127.8 and 176.25.173.128, please provide an explanation before reverting my style and link fixes. The relevant guideline for date formats is WP:DATESNO. Nick Number (talk) 00:25, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
- 176.25.173.128, in this edit summary you accused me of vandalism. This is a serious charge and I would like to hear your justification for it. As I specified in my previous post, the guideline WP:DATESNO lays out acceptable date formats. It specifically states "Do not use dd-mm-yyyy or mm-dd-yyyy as they are ambiguous." My edit did not alter any of the dates, but merely their formats, so referring to it as vandalism is way out of line in my view. Nick Number (talk) 21:06, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
