I made a mistake in the version of the page you reviewed--I confused the FPO (in which Kempner served, but did not assume a role of historical importance) with its successor militia, the Nokmim (in which Kempner did assume a leadership role). The error has been corrected and I've added a second citation for extra support.

The Nokmim, as far as we know, were the only undefeated Jewish ghetto uprising in the history of WWII. Kempner, Rozka Korczak, and founder Abba Kovner are acknowledged in multiple sources as its three leaders; they're already featured in many historical photographs accompanying existing Wikipedia entries on topics related to the Holocaust in Lithuania.

1939/1941

[edit]

here: Kempner was 19 when the Germans invaded Poland, and she fled to Vilnius, Lithuania. When Lithuania fell to the Germans eight months later
so what?

when the Germans invaded Poland
i.e.: 1939-09-01
fell to the Germans
i.e.: 1941-06-23
eight months
i.e.: 1940-10-23

but:

on 1939-09-01 Vilnius was polish
on 1939-10-10 Vilnius became lithunian
on 1940-10-23 Vilnius was in the CCCP
on 1941-06-23 Vilnius was in the CCCP

Hebrew spelling of her name

[edit]

The Hebrew spells out Vitka Kovner and not Vitka Kempner. Not a big deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning. 68.193.131.254 (talk) 19:26, 8 December 2022 (UTC)corpho[reply]
