Odd section
"Consistent with Casey Kasem's notes at the time, the song's Hot 100 top 40 run 34-16-12-6-5-4-4-4-4-3-1-6-7-33, with its rapid ascent, leveling off at number four, short climb to number one, steep descent to number six, slower descent to number seven, and its final, very steep, descent to number 33 before falling off, plotted as a moving function of chart date, resembles a rollercoaster's motion on its track, viewed from the side."

This is a fun observation (though it's not exactly unusual for chart songs to have this bell-curve-like trajectory), but is it really encyclopaedic? Sans citation, it's also 'original research'. I'm not experienced enough with the rules of Wikipedia to feel confident to remove it, but I do think someone more experienced should make a judgement call on it. == Page move ==

:Love Rollercoaster (Ohio Players song) → Love Rollercoaster – This article was moved to the disambiguated title by User:Fullmoon211 because there's a song of the same title by Mims, but I think that was a poor decision. The move placed this article at a WP:MISPLACED title, and all indications are that the Ohio Players song is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the title. Love Rollercoaster (Mims song) doesn't have an article. It may be best to add that song to the hatnote, though. Eureka Lott 02:44, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

:*I did move the page back to its original title, but User:Fullmoon211 moved it to the disambiguated title a second time. I opened this discussion instead of edit warring. Do you think there was a better way to handle it? - Eureka Lott 04:25, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
::*No, this is a fine way to handle it. It's very courteous of you to initiate an RM rather than just move it back again. Requesting someone else to revert it at WP:RMTR would also have been a good way to handle it, since that would involve a third party in the action, and would have gotten it moved back more quickly. Red Hot Chili Peppers

[edit]

Should the Red Hot Chili Peppers databox be so prominent? The RHCP version is a footnote in the actual article text, and the original is a Billboard #1 but has no databox information. The RHCP databox dominates the article, giving the impression that it is the databox for the original. Ben-San Arizona 01:45, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the cover of the song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers what ever happened to the background scream

[edit]

i know that i've heard both versions before but i was wondering is the infamous scream used in the background of the song and if so someone please tell me because the scream was the thing that made the song famous

No, no scream in the RHCP version. Bands who perform cover versions don't need to recreate every minor detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vonbontee (talkcontribs) 06:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ohio Players

[edit]

This really should have a single infobox, not a song infobox. It was a #1 single, no less..... - eo (talk) 18:17, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
 • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review
