[[bing.com/translator]] says "chino" does not mean "brown", but "Chinese", which is what i remember from high school Spanish class. Self-proclaimed Spanish-speakers at [[Talk:Chino cloth]] agree. |

i was going to ask if the city's name was related to the fact that many cities in California have Spanish names (like San Francisco and Los Angeles), and many Chinese immigrants to the US landed and stayed in California (thus, for example, [[Chinatown, San Francisco]]). |

Leah O'Brien
[edit]There's also Leah O'Brien, who I actually went to high school with but didn't know personally, who is a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist in softball. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 157.127.124.14 (talk) 02:18, 1 May 2007 (UTC).
- The Chino Hills article has her as from there; I don't know exactly where she lived, though she went to high school in Chino. In any case, I removed the entry here.
Name
[edit]Is it's name connected to the similarly named cloth?--86.25.49.105 04:19, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Zendejas
[edit]The Zendejas family is from Chino. They run a restaurant there, and the family includes three boys who played in the NFL. At least one of them went to Don Lugo High School, and at least one other attended Chino High School. Mr. Zendejas hosted our sports banquets in his restaurant because one of his boys went to our school (Don Lugo). There was also a guy who played for the Royals that went to my junior high, Ramona Junior High; maybe someone else knows his name. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 157.127.124.14 (talk) 02:12, 1 May 2007 (UTC).
Jessica Alba
[edit]Jessica Alba grew up in nearby Pomona, not Chino.
Gangs
[edit]chino sinner gang I'm not sure this information belongs here. Perhaps as part of a larger discussion on crime or culture within the city, but as a standalone sentence with its own heading? I'm deleting it for now.--Rockero 09:37, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Ryan Atwood
[edit]His inclusion here is inappropriate. He is a fictional character on a televison show. If we were to include all famous Television characters in the articles of cities that the character is from we would soon have pages too long to manage. Notable Residents or Famous People from Chino should include ONLY those people who are ACTUALLY from Chino, not some television character from Chino. If you think the information about Ryan Atwood belongs in the article, perhaps create a "Popular Culture" section about Chino and say something like "Chino was featured in the television series The O.C. as the hometown of Ryan Atwood" or something to that affect. Batman2005 23:50, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Might as well leave it in. The pop culture hounds will keep adding it in anyway. Maybe we can take it out next season when everyone forgets about it?--Rockero 21:21, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Sealofchino.png
[edit]Image:Sealofchino.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:25, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Abe Vigoda
[edit]The list of famous people includes Abe Vigoda, who is described as a member of a band. However, the link connects to the actor Abe Vigoda (b. 1921), who evidently has nothing to do with Chino.

Demographics and prison
[edit]Do the demographic statistics include the prison or just the free population? This should be made clearer.71.109.150.118 (talk) 22:46, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
