Wayne, born March 21, 1953, is a native Californian, having grown up in a grape vineyard outside of [[Selma, California]]. He was the third of four brothers and attended [[Oral Roberts University]] in [[Tulsa, OK]], graduating with honors in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in Biblical Literature. While at ORU Wayne served in the Spiritual Life Department as a Dorm Director, worked as Administrative Assistant to the Chaplain and competed in intramural sports. Jacobsen began his full-time Ministry in 1975 as an Associate Pastor at Valley Christian Center in Fresno, California - a Foursquare church.
