total height unclear from sources

[edit]

The sources at the moment seem to give 33m for the statue itself, and Przekroj gives 2m for the crown. But the crown overlaps with the statue, so we can only guess a total height of e.g. 34m. Also, List_of_statues_by_height typically comments on the total height including the pedestal. Boud (talk) 10:42, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable as to whether the crown is part of the statue at all: it is made separately of a different material, and it more an additional element of the total structure than part of the structure. If the people who maintain the Cochabamba construction were to weld a tall shepherd's crook onto one of the hands, could that make it taller again? I sourced some numbers, some of them are contradictory. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:31, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Photo Needed

[edit]

Full size photo is needed of finished statue. More information on its history and construction are also needed. 76.28.77.142 (talk) 23:50, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Maybe next time I'll get there while the sun is still shining. ProhibitOnions (T) 13:38, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Art Deco?

[edit]

Which source describes this statue's style as Art Deco? I can't read the Polish sources and the Irish source is behind a paywall. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 16:11, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have big doubts about it. I don't think the author knows what art déco is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E35:8A8D:FE80:457E:35E8:9317:1769 (talk) 19:37, 30 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the reference to Art Deco from the article. 84.81.186.138 (talk) 21:04, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Christ the King (Świebodzin). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Not the tallest Jesus statue?

[edit]

While working on this article, I stumbled across this Smithsonian article, which is saying there will/may already be a new tallest Jesus statue. This article will need to be updated when the Guinness World Record is updated. (Also, I can't find the actual origin of the claim that this broke a Guinness World Record; it's all secondary sources and not on Guinness' site.)
