These lines made me take a breath in with a hiss:
:The Buddhists temples in the city are attractive destinations for national and international tourists. Along the streets some Hindu temples depicting the statues of Lord Ganesha and Lord Brahma can also be seen.
The first part is I guess a truism, though that's hardly the reason the temples exist. The second line is breathtakingly out of whack.....I gather it wasn't a Thai or resident farang who wrote this part. Is there no article somewhere on Thai spirit houses? Needs a rewrite, this bit, but while taking the time to note it I'm not in the mood to come up with something...Skookum1 (talk) 06:06, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

I have an issue with characterising Buddhism as the majority religion in Phuket and Phuket Island. 70% of the population is Muslim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.183.216.132 (talk) 22:20, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

This article is currently titled "Phuket City"...But is there even such a place in Phuket? According to Google Maps, the capital city in the island of Phuket is simply known as "Phuket". Do any Thai documents refer to the existence of a place called "Phuket City"? I realise that this article can't be called just "Phuket" for obvious reasons. But there needs to be some kind of discussion about what this article should be called and why...It's also worth noting that more sources use the term "Phuket Town" than "Phuket City". Alternatively, perhaps the article could be titled "Phuket (city)" rather than "Phuket City". In any case, the article should be edited to reflect the fact there's no such place in Phuket called Phuket City, assuming I have my facts right... Name of article?

[edit]

The page was at Phuket (city) from 2007 to 2016, when it was renamed by User:MidasHotel20. I've reverted the move. --Paul_012 (talk) 02:10, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
