==Plot== |
Vasili forces Jack Bauer down the stairs while the guard who had tried to help Jack is seen lying dead on the ground. When Vasili informs Markov about his plan of killing Jack, Jack attacks and kills Vasili in the process. Markov sees the killing through a camera and orders the guards to pursue Jack. He also orders the guards to shut down all of their communication system in order to prevent Jack from contacting CTU. Meanwhile back in CTU, former President Charles Logan is seen being escorted by secret service for his debrief. When he stays in holding, he complains to Chloe that he needs to talk to Bill. Bill, who is inside the conference room, introduces to all the CTU staffs about Mike Doyle, who is the new field op agent. Doyle demands that everyone to report to him as he is preparing for the assault on Russia Consulate. Pressman expresses disdain toward his demand and speaks up. After Doyle tells him to go back to work, Pressman tells Nadia that he and Doyle had a feud back in Denver. |
Back in the White House bunker, Thomas Lennox is out of interrogation and heads to Acting President Daniels. Daniels tells him to “look the other way” and helps lying to the diplomat about how he sees Assad plants the bomb. When the diplomat comes to the bunker, Daniels threatens him to stop the nuclear bomb, or his country will face the “full power of the US military”. Back in CTU, Bill finally meets with Logan. When Bill tells him about the assault, Logan protests by calling the assault a mistake. After Bill says there is nothing else he can do, Logan offers his help by claiming that he can convince his ex-wife Martha Logan to get through to the Suvarovs. Bill reluctantly agrees. Outside, Doyle demands his information from Morris. When Morris says he doesn't have it, he warns him and all the staffs that they either met his demands or he will assign them somewhere else. |
When Charles reaches Martha Logan's house via helicopter, Charles Logan speaks to Martha, who is now living with Aaron Pierce. Charles wants Martha to call Russian President Yuri Suvarov's wife Anya to convince Yuri to order the surrendering of the Russian Consulate to the U.S. government because of Markov's involvement with Gredenko and the nuclear bombs. As the call is delayed, she becomes increasingly unstable and angry at Logan. With her kitchen knife, Martha suddenly stabs Charles in the upper right chest, cutting an artery. However, she manages to pull herself together and successfully executes the phone call. |
When Suverov's request for Markov to surrender is ignored, he authorizes the American government to use force against Markov and the Russian Consulate. Approved by CTU, Mike Doyle and his CTU tactical team ambush the consulate, killing all the Russian guards. Markov calls Gredenko and tells him to launch the drones immediately. Before he can finish, CTU agents move in his office and shoot Markov. After being free, Jack tells Doyle to inform CTU about Gredenko's location. After hearing this, Bill demands all satellite images on the area. |
At the end of this episode, while inside the ambulance, Charles utters the word "Martha" before he goes into cardiac arrest. It is not known whether Charles dies or not. |
