It is noticeable for being located at the front-side of the park and is easily seen from [[Interstate 15 in Utah|I-15]]. It has a green track with mostly silver supports with the only exception being bright yellow supports on the launch tower.

''Wicked'' is a launched rollercoaster designed by Lagoon and built by Zierer, featuring many elements of a new modern rollercoaster, which is uncommon for Zierer, and unusual for Lagoon as well. The ride can be considered "extreme" due to the fact the ride is launched, pulls 4.885 gs, and features overbanked turns and a zero-g roll. It was rumored to be named by the daughter of Dal Freeman (a designer/engineer of Magnum-XL-200) as "[[Wicked (musical)|Wicked]]," after the famous [[Musical theatre|musical]] and book.
The train leaves the station and immediately enters a dark tunnel. A siren and loud booming sound effect can be heard before the linear synchronous motor (LSM) launches the train straight up the {{Convert|110|ft|m|adj=on}} vertical launch hill at {{Convert|41|mph|km/h|abbr=on}}. The launch is in two parts, with a short boost launch inside the tunnel and a longer, vertical launch straight up the [[Top hat (roller coaster)|top hat]] element. A welding problem was discovered before the ride's intended opening, and parts of the track had to be rebuilt or replaced. The problem was discovered while checking the structural integrity of the columns using x-ray. Also on one of its first test runs when the launch was not near full power as it is now, the train did not clear the overbanked turn and almost stopped, but instead rolled back, and valleyed between the bottom of the launch hill and the airtime hill.

When Wicked opened on June 1, 2007, the ride appeared on a [[Fox News]] report, including ride reviews, and an on-ride POV. When the ride first opened, news spread throughout the entire park, and the line extended from Wicked (just beside the parking lot) to the east side of the Wild Mouse (south Midway).

Construction of the attraction began in August 2006.[1] Wicked was designed by Werner Stengel and manufactured by Zierer,[2] with fabrication subcontracted to Stakotra Manufacturing.[citation needed] The total cost to construct the ride was $10 million, and it opened to the public on June 1, 2007.[2][3] The ride has been described as "very smooth" and "lack[ing] any jerking or shaking" by Deseret News, which also noted that riders were secured unusually by their ankles and thighs, instead of traditional shoulder or lap restraints.[3]
