This village is basically an agrarian village and most of the residents are either farmers or marginal farmers. Paddy, chillies, cotton and tobacco are the main crops. There are two ponds that are main sources of water for irrigation. Chittapuram is considered to be one of the very few prosperous villages in the Ipur mandal in terms of education. On the political front, this village is considered to be very active and progressive.

The village has an upper-primary school and a single-teacher primary school run by the Mandal Parishad. There is a veterinary clinic and a couple of milk collection centers. At the center of the village there is a Panchayat office building. There is a paddy milling unit on the outskirts of the village. On the school ground there is a water purifying plant which supplies drinking water for the village.

There are couple of temples in the name of Lord Rama. One is known as “Ramulavari Meda” located in the middle of the village and the other one is located at the entrance. There is a renovated temple for Lord Ganeshand in which regular puja is conducted by the devotees and temple committee. Ganesha Chaturdhi is conducted on a grand scale with all the youngsters present from the village.

Chittapuram is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Ipur mandal of Guntur revenue division.[2]

Chittapuram is situated to the southeast of the mandal headquarters, Ipur,[4] at 16°13′09″N 79°49′40″E / 16.21917°N 79.82778°E / 16.21917; 79.82778. It is spread over an area of 1,047 ha (2,590 acres).[2]

Chittapuram gram panchayat is the local self-government of the village.[1] It is divided into wards and each ward is represented by a ward member.[5]
