In June 1990 preliminary investigations began, and finally in September 1990 the building of the bridge began. In August 1993 the bridge was openned to traffic. Federal Motorway 72 now flows over the bridge. The Elstertalbruecke Pirk spans the white elster. It has brick columns. [edit]

Construction began in 1937, but halted again in 1940 due to World War II.
