This train had its inaugural run on 11 March 2012 and it runs with new Duronto rakes.
It is the fastest train on the [[Pune railway station|Pune]] – [[Ahmedabad railway station|Ahmedabad]] sector, averaging 73.27&nbsp;km/hr in both directions.

Some of the other trains that cover the Pune – Ahmedabad sector are 11095/96 [[Ahimsa Express]], 16613/14 [[Rajkot-Coimbatore Express]], 14805/06 [[Barmer Yeshvantapur AC Express]], and 16209/10 [[Mysore Ajmer Express]].

This train had its inaugural run on March 11, 2012 and it runs with new Duronto rakes.

It is one of three [[Duronto Express]] trains that run from [[Pune railway station|Pune Junction]], the others being 12221/22 [[Pune Howrah Duronto Express]] and 12263/64 [[Hazrat Nizamuddin Pune Duronto Express]].

==Traction==

Dual traction [[WCAM 2/2P]] or [[Indian locomotive class WCAM 3|WCAM 3]] locomotives from the [[Kalyan railway station|Kalyan]] shed would haul the train all the way in both directions.

With progressive electrification changeover from DC traction to AC traction, [[Vadodara Junction railway station|Vadodara]] based [[WAP 5]] locomotives have begun hauling the train.
