==Billboard Positions== |
|||
Does anyone know if the Billboard chart positions are correct? They don't seem to match up with those listed on the Billboard site. For instance, it looks like XV has only made it to #145 thus far. It was listed at 45, so I modified that. I was going to modify the others, but they're all different. I thought maybe I was missing something. I am going to add Ear Candy though, since that did make it onto the Billboard chart and isn't currently listed on the page. |

==Christian Rock== |
|||
Shouldn't this article be removed from the "Christian Rock" category, since it specifically states that they are not Christian Rock? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.31.60.239 (talk • contribs) |

There is also an issue with sourcing in this section of the article--I know, sourcing problems with Wikipedia entries, what a shock! Not only is the link broken, but the neutrality and objectivity of this particular source I would describe as dubious at best. This section badly needs a clean-up, an attempt should be made to find a credible source for this statement or it needs removing.216.228.176.194 (talk) 14:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC) |

I tried fixing the broken refs, but I think I just mixed things up more. I'm not sure what's going on in there. AnarchyElmo (talk) 22:46, 15 January 2008 (UTC) |

==Best concert ever== |
|||
The best concert I ever saw was King's X opening for Living Colour. |
|||
==Stole the name 'Platypus'== |
|||
My husband's band, Platypus, opened for King's X in Phoenix in 1994. Platypus drew over 1200 people that night, and after they played their set, most of those 1200 people left the club! Pinnick and Ty treated us like dirt and leered at us for the rest of the evening....like it was our fault they couldn't hold a crowd. A few years later we heard from some friends in LA who said that members of Kings X had formed a new band..........and chose to call themselves 'Platypus'! |
|||
This is a big world, and there were probably twenty bands named Platypus at the same time, especially because it's such a funny animal. Aside from it being unlikely that Ty remembered the name of one local opener on one night three years prior, that name is (even still) not registered in the trademark office (http://www.uspto.gov/index.html). Also, I find it unbelievable that Doug and Ty would be mean simply because the opener had a bigger crowd. King's X has completely rocked out in countless sparsely-populated clubs, and taken more hits to their egos over the years than would allow the kind of arena-rocker snobbery you're alleging. But, ultimately, the name Platypus was not owned by anyone, and therefore it could not have been stolen by anyone. |

It is ridiculous whining about a coincidence. Especially blaming the whole band, as Platypus (band) is a project and the only common link is Ty Tabor. (Ex) Dream Theater people outnumber King's X in it 2:1 :) |
|||
Even the music related section in Platypus disambig page has several sources of inspiration. But the commonly known oddball animal is an obvious source of naming and attention. There's probably been a dozen unsigned bands with the name before Platypus (band). |
|||
I'd say this section should be struck out, if not for terrible writing then because WP:SOAP! blades (talk) 19:53, 3 August 2008 (UTC) |

== origin of name == |
|||
It was my understanding that the term "King's X" referred to a sign or seal of a monarch that afforded the bearer safe passage. For example, messengers sent between warring kings carried the King's X. |

:It's said that once illiterate people used to sign contracts with an X on the line where their name would be. I always thought the name came from this. The seal explanation and "King's Cross" (inlucing the "Xtianity" reference) seem other neat ideas. blades (talk) 19:43, 3 August 2008 (UTC) |

:: Now that we have two paragraphs of clarification on the name of the band, the entire current first paragraph should go because it is unsourced speculation. I'm removing it now. -Mmpartee (talk) 16:40, 15 August 2008 (UTC) |

I thought I read about the band being named for a bar in Texas. But, personally I always thought of it as being marked by God for salvation or something similar. The reverse of that could be more like the mark placed on Cain by God to let all know that he was to be shunned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.126.193.15 (talk) 20:56, 26 May 2016 (UTC) |

==Side-projects== |

Does anyone feel up to putting together a discography for all the KX's members side and solo projects? The section on the page seems to mention most of the main ones, but I feel like some are missing... I know I can't keep up. As a sidenote, does anyone know what happened to kingx.net? I've never seen such a great band website, and it had psychotically large amounts of info. == Need a good band picture == |

I've tried a few times to put up a band picture but they keep getting deleted. Can anyone figure this out please? This article could really use one.72.37.171.36 (talk) 15:52, 4 November 2008 (UTC) |

== Peer review tweaks == |
|||
As per some of the suggestions of the peer review, I tried to beef up the intro a bit. I'm not sure I like the sound of it and I'm sure it will change a bit. But it does cover the whole "Christian" thing which is noticably absent from the rest of the article. It gives a bit of context to the "Christian Band" section towards the bottom.Now2blue (talk) 16:48, 24 November 2008 (UTC) |

I removed the following "King's X is noted by music critics and fans for their sophisticated sound" |

1) It sounds biased-"sophisticated sound" |

2)"King's X is noted by music critics" What music critics? I don't see any references?--67.32.211.236 (talk) 22:10, 30 October 2009 (UTC) |

Spiderman: traces of historical facts in "Cigarettes" relat to a person from 1993 who went to prison in 1994, and it blows my mind. I wish there were shows like that on the airwaves. Couldn't Stand the Weather, SRV. Was wondering if anyone is familiar with D.J. Conway, Wicca, Complete Craft book, or if some of the songs like Pleiades could be Kabbalistic inspirational, or Galileo. What a masterpiece. peace75.203.45.114 (talk) 23:26, 23 November 2009 (UTC) |
