==Education==
==Local Information==
Public education in Montgomery City is administered by Montgomery County R-II School District.<ref>{{cite web | url=https://www.mc-wildcats.org | title=Homepage | publisher=Montgomery County R-Ii School District | access-date=4 June 2019}}</ref>
The high school mascot is the Wildcats, and the high school sports ranges from poor to almost winning state. The "emblem" is a representation of the fountain at the town's only stop light(yeah we are just that cool). Other things of significance is the tree across the street from Subway looks like the Pillsbury Dough Boy when lit up at night. The town is pretty much run by several huge families that are all related and have been living in MOCO since it was founded. MOCO is also known amongst other local schools for having a strong Academic Bowl team but it is not widely recognized by the school as the main focus is "County Football". One of the greatest moments ever lived by the Montgomery County soccer team, was during the second year of the teams existence they managed to score a goal on the famed Rockbridge soccer team. Even though they went on to lose 11-1 it was the thought of Rockbridge having to run many miles for having such a new team score on them, that day will live forever in history. The high school band was led by a Mr. Wells who was one of the greatest teachers ever, and he led the band to receive many prestigious awards and become one of the top ranked bands within the local area. A legend among the band is that there is a troublesome gnome that dwells below the band room floor, name Bartholomew. He likes to steal reeds, valve oil and Percussion music, the only way to keep this from happing is to leave an offering of trash and half eaten biscuits in the band room vents. The only restaurants that have managed to stay open have been Dairy Queen and Subway, but a recent addition of Dominoes pizza could lead to a triad of stable restaurants. Local lore also has us believe that Wal-mart was once interested in opening a store close to MOCO, but the land owner turned down the offer of several million dollars because he enjoyed the land to much. Montgomery also likes to brag about it's county fair, in the past they have had popular bands such as Def Leppard, but in recent years it has declined to unknown country singers and very poor carnival rides. MOCO has a very good FFA program which wins many awards every year at regional and national conventions. There is a very strong country pride that runs through Montgomery which leads to a celebration of Agricultural Learning and Advancement known as FFA a week, where students of the local high school participate in many fun filled and wacky adventures dealing with Agriculture.

Montgomery City has a lending library, the Montgomery City Public Library.<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.publiclibraries.com/missouri.htm | archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170610012728/http://www.publiclibraries.com/missouri.htm | url-status=dead | archive-date=10 June 2017 | title=Missouri Public Libraries | publisher=PublicLibraries.com | access-date=2 June 2019}}</ref>
