==History==
In 1950 route 64 operated between provided a daily service between [[West Croydon station]] and [[Addington, London|Addington]] being operated out of [[Arriva London#Croydon (TC)|Croydon garage]]. On 20 July 1960, route 64 was extended from West Croydon to [[Wimbledon Stadium]] to replace trolleybus route 630. By 10 May 1961 the route had been withdrawn between [[Tooting Broadway]] and Wimbledon Stadium.

On 4 December 1971 the route was converted to one man operation with the [[AEC Routemaster]]s replaced by [[Daimler Fleetline]]s.<ref name=KBlack>{{cite book|last=Blacker|first=Ken|title=Routemaster: 1970–2005|edition=2nd|volume=2|year=2007|publisher=Capital Transport|location=Harrow Weald|isbn=978-1-85414-303-7|page=10}}</ref> On 22 August 1987, the route was extended from Addington to [[New Addington]] replacing route 130B, it was then withdrawn between West Croydon and Tooting Broadway and was diverted via [[South Circular Road, London|London Road]] to [[Arriva London#Thornton Heath (TH)|Thornton Heath garage]].

Upon being re-tendered, the route passed to [[Metrobus (South East England)|Metrobus]] on 30 August 1997. In August 2009, route 64 was retained by Metrobus.<ref>[https://tfl.gov.uk/forms/13796.aspx?btID=567 Bus tender results Route 64] Transport for London 9 October 2008</ref>

In 2014, the Go-Ahead Group restructured its bus operations, which included the transfer of Route 64 from Metrobus to [[Go-Ahead London]]. However, the vehicles used on the route continue to carry Metrobus branding.
