Hi! It's been 13 weeks since you moved this submitted page from my Sandbox to Drafts. Is there anything else I need to do? <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:JacPainter|JacPainter]] ([[User talk:JacPainter#top|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/JacPainter|contribs]]) 22:00, 12 August 2019 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:Hi {{u|JacPainter}}, unfortunately the Articles for Creation process is a bit backed up for now so it may take a while for an editor to get to your draft. It has already been submitted and is currently waiting for review so there is nothing you need to do for now. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 16:23, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi Liance, thanks for your feedback. I'm keen to learn a bit more, have you got examples of the type of sources that you would consider significant? Businessinsider.com for example?

<!-- End of message -->[[User:Jamesharrower|Jamesharrower]] ([[User talk:Jamesharrower|talk]]) 16:22, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Jamesharrower}}, Business Insider should work as a source in establishing notability and coverage. I took a look at the sources in your draft, and the reference to the James Derby website should be removed since it isn't independent of the subject itself. In addition press releases generally aren't considered to be good reference material, and many of the references seem to be issued or affiliated with the subject in some way so I would recommend finding sources that are [[WP:IS|independent]] of the subject. Lastly, your username seems to indicate a [[WP:COI|conflict of interest]] with the subject, so I would highly recommend you to [[WP:DISCLOSE]] your relationship. Hope this helped! -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 17:47, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

{{Lafc|username=164.41.237.119|ts=18:42:35, 15 August 2019|declinedtalk=Draft:Analizo}}

I want to request specific reasons to decline Analizo article!

<!-- Start of message -->

Analizo is a long term maintaned static analysis project, developed as free software and used for many researchers over the world, the Analizo draft submitted is much better and has much more reliable informations then others articles of others tools like Analizo, just as example check these articles:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PVS-Studio

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SofCheck_Inspector

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sotoarc

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagix_4D

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiuwan

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Yetus

None of then has the Quality of the current Analizo Draft has, only to cite a few ones, see more articles on the list of static analysis tools at:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tools_for_static_code_analysis

You will find there many articles and tools accepted on Wikipedia with worse quality then Analizo article Draft.

Also, how the references added on the Draft is weak and miss of idependency of the subject? The paper added as reference is a paper accepted and presented in one of the most important congress of this subject in Brazil, the paper added as reference was presented at CBSOFT 2010 conference, the most traditional conference about SOFTWARE (including software engineering, computer science, and so on), refence here http://wiki.dcc.ufba.br/CBSOFT/AcceptedTools

For sure the Article about Analizo needs improvements, but you can't say that miss independent and reliable information, as pointed here here is lots of articles about tools like Analizo with worse and much few reliable information.

Please, review the article again, thanks.

:Hi there. I rejected your draft because I felt that it did not show notability, as there were only two references, one a Github repository and the other one linking to the subject's website. Most of the articles you listed with "worse quality" have independent references that show notability and coverage to some extent (and some of them also do not meet Wikipedia's preferred standards for notability), however your draft only included one non-independent source (as a github repo usually isn't counted). See [[WP:GNG]] for more information. If you feel that I did not adequately review your article feel free to submit again, however I highly recommend you add more references to establish coverage or notability as it would greatly improve the draft's likelihood of being accepted into the mainspace. Hope this helped. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 18:52, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

== [[Draft: 1988 in Punjab]] ==

"The proposed article does not have sufficient content to require an article of its own, but it could be merged into the existing article at Punjab. Since anyone can edit Wikipedia, you are welcome to add that information yourself. Thank you."

These two events (flood and operation black thunder) were important in 1988 but they don't define Punjab. [[Punjab]] is the home of Indus valley civilization, home of panini, Taxila university, frontier of Alexander's farthest campaign, battle field of Aryans, mongols, afghans, iranians, arabs, english, sikh, maratha and turkic tribes, home of green revolution, Largest migration in human history How can you merge these events in Punjab article? Wikipedia is not perfect pedia. Later others can add to article. [[User:Serjatt6|Serjatt6]] ([[User talk:Serjatt6|talk]]) 13:37, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Serjatt6}}. At the time of review, I did not feel that the draft had enough content to warrant a separate article from the main article ([[Punjab]]), as it only had a short mention of a flood, and this snippet of information would be better off merged into the primary article. Generally, articles for certain years in locations are more fleshed out (see [[1988 in the United Kingdom]] for example). If you feel that you have added enough content and would like another review please feel free to resubmit your draft. Thank you. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 16:03, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

The article I submitted on Brandon Cahill aka Vic Sage was not accepted. One of the comments asked me to remove all references to Apple Music and Spotify - however here is an article where the references link to both Apple Music and Spotify: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futuristic_(rapper). Additionally Spotify's Viral 100 and Viral 50 charts have become reliable indicators of music that is being shared digitally; the site is not just a place to post and listen to music - it shows when artist's songs are being shared locally and globally to a higher degree than others. Apple Charts also show when an album has risen to their top most downloaded albums - which was the case with the album in this article "Low Key." Please reconsider the use of Spotify and Apple Music as they are sources that show the status of a musical artist as producing and disseminating songs digitally and that are gaining more traction than other digitally disseminated songs - both in the US and globally. Thank you.

:Hi {{u|ITLRosanna}}. Although the article you linked does have references to Apple Music and other media streaming websites they are generally not needed and are not usable in establishing coverage/notability. Please make sure your subject meets [[WP:MUSICBIO]] and [[WP:GNG]] through your other references - this is the most important criteria you should keep in mind while writing your draft. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 16:09, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Dear Liance, thank you for your email. I am a Wordpress blogger, and I thought that it is worth to give wikipedia a try. It't clear that the problem in deleting the post is that I used some of my own writing from wordpress in the page. This might cause a real struggle to me as I will need to paraphrase alot. I have already did in this page that I was creating but indeed there was a copy and paste. I did put the subject in a new format here, and added new points. I am willing to fix the errors so please let me know if anything else I can do :) <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Mo mohanna|Mo mohanna]] ([[User talk:Mo mohanna#top|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Mo mohanna|contribs]]) 19:03, 22 August 2019 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hi Liance,

You appear to be quite busy so I will be brief.
1. Thanks for moving my proposed page from the sandbox.
2. I understand and support neutrality and respect full disclosure of COI.
3. And, I believe that what my company is accomplishing is unique and meets Wiki's notability standard.
If you can spare the time, I would greatly appreciate your opinion on that last point.
Thanks again,
[[User:DriverSafety|DriverSafety]] ([[User talk:DriverSafety|talk]]) 13:59, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|DriverSafety}}. My advice to you would to be to ensure that you have references that show significant coverage in multiple independent, reliable secondary sources. The inclusion of multiple references that demonstrate notability (see [[WP:NCORP]]) increases the likelihood that your article will be accepted. In addition, make sure you clearly declare your COI on your user page in order to meet Wikipedia guidelines. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 21:09, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Thanks Liance. I have tried and failed to declare my COI on my user page because I do not know how to do it. I thought I had, and then what I added was no longer there when I next looked.
Regarding the multiple references, I included several peer reviewed scientific publications that report on the third party independent researcher program evaluations that my company supports to validate our training programs. This process is part of the concurrent engineering approach our company invests in and which, I believe, makes it notable for a company of our small size. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:DriverSafety|DriverSafety]] ([[User talk:DriverSafety#top|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/DriverSafety|contribs]]) 04:41, 31 August 2019 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hi Liance,
Have you been assigned to edit my proposed article about Sherwood Ross? If not, will somebody contact me at some point to discuss any revisions? I am in the process of trying to obtain rights to certain historic photos from AP and Getty Images.

I have also disclosed on my Talk Page that Sherwood Ross is my father and I may be considered to have a COI. Am I required to take any further action in the interest of full disclosure. If so, please advise.

Thank you, Karl
:Hi {{u|66.165.177.7}}, currently the article [[Draft:Sherwood Ross]] has been submitted for review so that means an editor will review it for inclusion in the wiki. Please note that any images uploaded to the wiki must be under a license that is freely licensed with no exceptions (see [[WP:IUPC]]). :Hi {{u|Netpilots}}. The draft currently does not have enough references to demonstrate the notability required for inclusion in the wiki per notability policies (see [[WP:BIO]]). Hey Liance, hope all is well.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my article. I'm new to this and apologise if my knowledge is not up to scratch on all this.

I had a good look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music) and the other articles on Independent, reliable sources etc.

I'm having a little trouble understanding the degree of notability that a website/article must have and how this is determined before it can pass as a reliable source on wiki. I looked at a number of other Australian artists to best gauge what referencing was being used and thought the ones I had used for 'Jaycee's' article were up to standard, that being Independent and reliable.

Could you please help me in understanding which specific articles were not acceptable and why?
and if possible, if there is anyway to determine beforehand the notability of an article before referencing again. I would hate to keep re-editing with insufficient reliable sources.

Thanks so much for your time! --[[User:JohnCena569|JohnCena569]] ([[User talk:JohnCena569|talk]]) 06:29, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|JohnCena569}}. Your draft was declined because the references in there generally did not show significant coverage. Most were links to streaming sites (i.e. iTunes), event listings or nonreliable user-contributed sources like Genius. Generally, the sources needed to show notability should be in-depth, not lists or passing mentions. For example, an article on a website like the New York Times would work. In addition, make sure your subject meets the criteria at [[WP:NMUSIC]]. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 16:15, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi Liance! Thank you for your notes! I just want to make certain I understand the reason SheVibe,Inc. wasn’t accepted. From what I understand it was solely due to not having substantive press citations that are more than a passing mention as well as the citations I included not being from more well-known sources? I just want to make certain that I don’t have to address anything else.
Thank you again for reviewing my proposed entry!

Best,
Elle
:Hi {{u|Ellechase}}. Another editor rejected your draft and left a comment (on [[User talk:Ellechase|your talk page]]) saying they felt it did not meet Wikipedia's company notability policy ([[WP:NCORP]]), which specifies the criteria a subject has to meet before it is considered for inclusion. The primary issue they noted was the usage of non-independent sources - references should have no affiliation with the subject and must show significant coverage. First and foremost, I would recommend removing all references to Wikipedia pages (as they noted) since it can't be used as a reference as well as sources that are retail websites or are affiliated with the subject, and then adding sources that help to satisfy criteria if possible. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 22:29, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Liance, many thanks for your help on the LIGO Documentary submission. I have added further documentation, from the Bali Film Festival, where the film is showing this month, and the National Science Foundation, their funder. I steered clear of the kind of citations that were more promotion and advertising, which I believe is the right choice. It is an important documentary, and very new, as is detailed. I trust much new information and new documentation will be added in the coming months, but I hope this now is well enough defined that it can be accepted. Most important, the internal Wikipedia links to their production groups, Advanced LIGO Documentary Project and LIGO Scientific Collaboration reflect organizations already fully vetted by Wikipedia. Many thanks ~~John Greene~~

:Hi {{u|JGreene20}}. I still feel that your draft ([[Draft:LIGO Documentary]]) does not show that the subject is notable because none of your sources show significant coverage while also being secondary and independent. Please make sure your references are not affiliated with the subject, and have deep coverage of the subject. IMDb is not an acceptable reference. You should review Wikipedia's notability criteria [[WP:NN]] to make sure your submission is adequately supported to show notability. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 22:33, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

:Hi {{u|TVaughanSoCal}}, I would advise taking a look at [[WP:NMUSIC]], which lists some important criteria for notability related to music subjects, as well as [[WP:NPERSON]] and [[WP:NN]] for more general notability. As of now your draft is missing a lot of [[WP:ILC|inline citations]] which are necessary for establishing notability coverage, so I would recommend finding some independent and secondary sources with significant coverage (e.g. a news article, book, etc) and adding them so that information and notability can be verified. Also, I want to mention that Wikipedia contains three articles related to Mr. Heim.
One is an article on Centerless Grinding. However, whoever wrote it did not mention who invented it. My article resolves that issue.

Second, there is a Wikipedia article called "Rod End Bearing" that contains erroneous information on the inventor that needs to be corrected. As described in my article, Mr. Heim invented the rod end bearing and can be seen in Patent No. 2,366,668. You can find the patent on Google Patents or on the US Patent and Trademard Office website. I would provide a link but the link is unreliable so you would have to go to the website and enter the patent number.
Also, in the Wiki article on the Rod End Bearing, you will notice that the bearing is called the "Heim Joint" for the inventor Lewis Heim.

Third, the Wikipedia article on the Ball and Roller Bearing Company, that was founded by Mr. Heim and cited in the registration form for the National Register of Historic Places. The Wiki article cites Mr. Heim as the inventor of the modern centerless grinding machine.

Please advise if this helps to resolve the issue of "reliable resources".
If not, please advise what else I need to do to have my article approved.
Thanks.

PS: If you want to contact me by email or phone, I am open to these alternatives.

:Hi {{u|Wikisetter54}}, I noticed that you have two drafts on the same subject - [[Draft:Lewis R. Heim]] and [[Draft:Lewis Rasmus Heim]]. Firstly, I would recommend you delete one of them and focus your efforts on the other one by placing <nowiki>{{db-author}}</nowiki> on the one you would like to delete. This way, editors won't get confused as to which draft you are trying to submit. Next, you should cite the PDFs directly on the articles provided they are available online, and if one of your references is offline (e.g. a newspaper or book) there is no problem with referencing that as well (just indicating its author, title, location, publisher/edition, etc with the relevant template); this way you can make sure your draft is supported by reliable sources. Lastly, if you think there are errors on any other pages, you can make those changes yourself - Wikipedia is editable by anyone, after all. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 00:09, 14 September 2019 (UTC)

== Quick question on Jean Morrison draft ==

Good afternoon, Liance,

Thank you again for your help in reviewing the article submission I created for Jean Morrison. Just a quick check-in to make sure you have everything you need from me for this and to see if there's an estimated timeframe for review/publication. It goes without saying, but please let me know if there's any additional info I can provide.

Many, many thanks again,

:Hey {{u|Davidjlazar}} - currently your draft is submitted for review, and, due to the sheer number of draft articles awaiting review right now, it may take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for your article to be reviewed. Hi Liance,

Thanks for letting me know you moved the page to draft namespace [[Draft:Kym_Illman]] and suggesting I request you to proofread /improve the article. If you have time I would love you to do that. :Hi {{u|KymIllman}} - I took a look at the references you provided, and just want to make sure you know that they should be non-trivial coverage of the subject, rather than passing mentions. Some of your sources don't cover the subject in any significant way, so I would suggest you remove those if you feel that they aren't necessary to the article. Additionally, I just want to remind you that writing an autobiography (which you appear to be doing) is [[WP:AUTO|highly discouraged]], due to inherent issues with POV/bias. == Deb Lavender ==

Hi Lance,

Thank you for your fast response on moving my Deb Lavender article out of sandbox. I'm new to Wiki and believe I've possibly made a mistake in requesting the move. The article is actually a major edit of an existing stub, Deb Lavender. How do I preserve the edit history and move the article to its intended home, which is the Deb Lavender published page? It's my understanding pasting it over into Deb's page is not the preferred process.[[User:PatriciaBishop|PatriciaBishop]] ([[User talk:PatriciaBishop|talk]]) 11:24, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
:Hi there {{u|PatriciaBishop}} - sorry I didn't realize it was actually an existing article. Next time, please just edit the actual article itself - this can prevent issues with copy-paste moves and make edit history more seamless. I would recommend copying/rewriting the parts that you added to your draft to the live article manually, since there are two separate edit histories there is no easy way to merge them. Please be careful not to delete other editors' work in the process! :{{u|Largadet}}, generally article titles (and instances in the text of the articles) are not formatted with their stylized versions - in the case of the Editta Braun Company, I would advise keeping the instances of it and the article title in uppercase (though you could write "(stylized as '''editta braun company''')" after it's first mentioned in the article to note it being lowercase). There are ways to change the case of the article title but I feel that it isn't appropriate in this case. You were certainly right to decline [[:User:Kumarkush111/sandbox/Mathurasini Printing Press]]!
But not only is there no indiccation ofsignificance, this is a straight advertisement. The clearest way to indicate the problems with such articles is
to also decline them as adv., so both templates papear on the user talk page.

And in this case, it is such a blatant unmistakable advertisement without any possible encyclopedic content, that t also qualifies for Speedy G11.
(We're a little more reluctant to use G11 for drafts as for articles, because there's the hope drafts can be rewritten, but when it's as clear as this,
G11 is appropriate. The sooner we get rid of these the better)

:Hi there {{u|AleitheaAnne}} - what I meant by minimum requirement for citations is that your article should include [[WP:ILC|inline citations]] within the body of the article so that information can be properly verified. The first paragraph in the "Professional Career" section has no citations, so you would need to make sure that information could be [[WP:VERIFY|verified]] through the included citations, otherwise that infoaa may not be fit for inclusion.

:In addition, you should make sure your subject meets the [[WP:BIO|notability criteria for living persons]] - press releases do not meet the requirements for secondary, reliable sources, so please try to find alternatives. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 17:47, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

:{{u|Ngannguyen1702}}, I took a look at your draft and I would make sure your article supported by [[WP:ILC|inline citations]] - as of now, there are only [[WP:EXT|external links]] in the article body, which are generally not supposed to be in the body of the article and should be removed. The article reads more like a [[WP:RESUME|resume]] with a list of a achievements rather than a biography, so I would recommend removing links to education, google scholar, etc. and make sure that your article meets [[WP:NPROF|the notability criteria for professors]] through reliable, secondary sources. == [Opinion needed] Proper name for the draft ==

[Update] After some discussion with other tech guys at Reddit I think I will leave the name of the draft as is. Eventually google and other search engines will start to index "moleculer" and they will stop assuming that it's a typo.

[Original]
Hey Lance.
A couple of weeks ago I've created a draft article but now I'm thinking that its name might not be the best. I'll try to explain why. The draft is called "Moleculer" (it's a microservices framework).
However, when googling for "Moleculer" the search engine assumes that it's a typo and searches for "molecular" with an "A". As a result it shows a lot of biology related results.
So, this time search engine indexing algorithms are not helping at all.

To avoid this issue and to, somewhat, provide better search results I was thinking to change the name of the draft to "Moleculer (microservices framework)".
What do you think? Would it help?

PS: I've also added some references (including an IEEE article) to the draft as you've asked.

== Rejection of e-commerce platform article ==

My article of e-commerce platform was rejected. E-commerce and e-commerce platform are two different topics. The article with title 'E-commerce platform' was one of the requested articles on Wikipedia. The second reason you mentioned was link farm to two websites. I took the idea from the websites and then wrote in my own words. Another thing that can be done is to include my article under E-commerce. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Smitpshah17|Smitpshah17]] ([[User talk:Smitpshah17#top|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Smitpshah17|contribs]]) 03:08, 9 October 2019 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

== SYSML Version 1.5 ==

Lian,

I has been trying to publish the SYSML Version 1.5 document to the wikipedia website (1 September 2019) and did not get your approval since it is a copy right document. Do you mind if I send you the permission message from the copy right owner? I already loaded that permission message from the owner of that wikipedia document but you might not see it somehow. I try to share this information to the wiki audience so they can learn the new method and specification to work on Model Based System Engineering. Also after I get your approval to publish it, I will modify the format to make it more user friendly using the anchor command and hyperlink. Please let me know how I can send the original owner message to you. Note that if this option fails I think the only option left is the owner to load the document to Wikipedia by himself.

Thanks.

Hello!

My article has been declined several times now and i wonder as to why. Another user was claiming youtube links are not reliable source's - which is fair. Therefore i removed them and found as much credible sites as possible to back up the information. In this case its several clubs confirming the identity of a player in their records so i am not really sure what more information i can provide. I added youtube links so that the player can be seen playing for a club which should be the most credible source of all.

Please let me know how i can improve this article enough to get approved.

:Hi {{u|Thesoccerex}}, I would recommend you take a look at [[WP:NN]] and [[WP:NSPORT]] and add reliable sources that fit those criteria. Liance, sorry to sound rude but your rejection of my HSCC submission is somewhat absurd. I suggest you consider other 'Journal' entries in Wikipedia and you will see that I have virtually copied HSCC in a similar style (as best I could). I shouldn't have to point out the obvious similarity for comparison, but if it is necessary, take a look at the 'Journal of Religion and Health' which I have helped to edit and which was improved again by another Wikipedia editor. If you have a version which may better fit the criteria then you can resubmit the draft with that version and have it reviewed. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 22:56, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

Hello John, Thank you for your help. I'm new to Wikipedia. The page I created was deleted with some good edits, D8 and G12. I would like to fix and resubmit. Where can I find my deleted page to check links and to properly reference the website that was used for information?

:Hi {{u|Henda Salmeron}}, the restoration of your page might not be possible because your page contained copyrighted content, which is why it was deleted. You can try requesting a page undeletion at [[WP:REFUND]], but it is not likely that your undeletion would be granted since copyrighted content is not allowed on the wiki and is usually not kept. If you still have relevant information I would recommend recreating the page from scratch, considering its original form was in part or in whole a copyright violation. Hope this helps. -[[User:Liance|Liance]][[User_talk:Liance|talk]]/[[Special:Contributions/Liance|contribs]] 12:32, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, John for moving the my draft to the correct space. I look forward to hearing back on it's creation. I have referenced the Henda's Law website, the law is cited exactly how it reads. So hopefully we can see that it is not a copyright issue. Thanks again. [[User:ReginaMorris|ReginaMorris]] ([[User talk:ReginaMorris|talk]]) 18:43, 11 November 2019 (UTC)Regina

== Thomas Nail ==

Hi Liance,

Thank you for moving my article to the "Draft:Thomas Nail". The article has been rejected twice but no one has told me how to fix the issues. One comment suggests that academics need a "named chair" to be listed, which is clearly no the case for most entries. Another says I need reliable independent sources that are verifiable—but that was what I thought I just added with links to peer reviewed journals, etc. I am super confused. Other entries are way less supported than mine. Can you tell me specifically what I need to do here. Its all so mysterious.

Thank you for your feedback on "Draft:Thomas Nail". The article has been rejected twice but no one has told me how to fix the issues. Also: I read the wiki instructions and its pretty clear that the article meets at least one of the academic criteria listed: "The most typical way of satisfying Criterion 1 is to show that the academic has been an author of highly cited academic work – either several extremely highly cited scholarly publications or a substantial number of scholarly publications with significant citation rates. Reviews of the person's work, published in selective academic publications, can be considered together with ordinary citations here. Differences in typical citation and publication rates and in publication conventions between different academic disciplines should be taken into account.

I have linked to google scholar and academia.edu to verify this. Thomas Nail has a book, The Figure of the Migrant, cited 285 times (which is a lot for philosophy books). He also fulfills the other named criteria of "unique" contribution that can be verified by reading the linked book review of Theory of the Border- where the reviewer clearly states the original and unique contribution of a whole new conceptual framework. Check it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RyanHSanborn (talk • contribs) 03:22, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

Please read this: I am pasting here the explicit criteria on wikipedia for academic notability and precise how Thomas Nail satisfies this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(academics) Academics meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable.

1. The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.

"The most typical way of satisfying Criterion 1 is to show that the academic has been an author of highly cited academic work – either several extremely highly cited scholarly publications or a substantial number of scholarly publications with significant citation rates. Reviews of the person's work, published in selective academic publications, can be considered together with ordinary citations here. Differences in typical citation and publication rates and in publication conventions between different academic disciplines should be taken into account. To count towards satisfying Criterion 1, citations need to occur in peer-reviewed scholarly publications such as journals or academic books. Publication and citation rates in humanities are generally lower than in sciences. Also, in sciences, most new original research is published in journals and conference proceedings whereas in humanities book publications tend to play a larger role (and are harder to count without access to offline libraries). The meaning of "substantial number of publications" and "high citation rates" is to be interpreted in line with the interpretations used by major research institutions in determining the qualifications for the awarding of tenure."

Here is how criteria number 1 is verified: a) follow the link "highly cited" to google scholar and see that there are several "highly cited" books and many well cited peer- reviewed articles. b) follow the academia.edu link at the bottom to see that Thomas Nail has over 4,000 followers with a quarter of a million downloads. c) when determining "highly cited" consider 1. that philosophy has much lower citation rates than the sciences, 2. that books are much more important that articles, and 3. that Thomas Nail is a tenured faculty, meaning that he has published enough to be considered to have made an impact in his field. d) view his CV on academia.edu to see the 10 books he has written and over 30 peer reviewed articles and major conferences and full range of interviews.

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Liance, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

Technology update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

General project update:

  • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
  • Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Liance. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Liance, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
  • The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

New Years new page backlog drive

Hello Liance, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

  • The total number of reviews completed for the month.
  • The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.

NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Hello Liance, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!
The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Liance, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018

Hello Liance, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.

Deletion tags

  • Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.

Backlog drive:

  • A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Editathons

  • There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.

Paid editing - new policy

  • Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

  • The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.

Not English

  • A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.

News

  • Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
  • The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

Recent review of a new article: DeepOnion

Hello Liance,

Thank you for reviewing my new article DeepOnion. Your Comment: Sources do not establish notability of subject, merely acknowledging its existence. Hi Skynav, sorry for the delay in answereing your question. I must have missed your message. All references on Wikipedia must conform to our policies in that they must be reliable and secondary, some of your sources do not fit that requirement; in addition the references should establish notability about the subject (CryptoCompare for example). The article can be greatly improved, please ask if you have any more questions. Thanks! -Liancetalk/contribs 13:07, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Nomination of CryptoKitties for deletion

Article review Haelan 951

Hi Liance, I am new at creating articles for Wikipedia. Can you clarify your comment "Some references are associated with the subject. Please remove these." Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Haelan951 (talkcontribs) 18:17, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Haelan951, I was referring to the fact that Wikipedia requires references to be independent of the subject, in that they usually should not be published by a party closely related to the subject itself. I recommend removing references published by a party closely related to the subject itself before resubmitting your article. Please let me know if you have any other questions. -Liancetalk/contribs 23:29, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

WikiProject Apps: Swift Playgrounds + Kiwaka

Hello Liance,

Thank you for reviewing and rating Swift Playgrounds. Someone tagged the page with: "{Advert | date=February 2019}" I would like to improve the article so that the tag can be removed. I've reviewed the document and I don't think it has inappropriate links or promotional content. Maybe the language style could be improved. Do you have any recommendations?

Also, I've recently submitted an article for an educational game: Draft:Kiwaka within the scope of the WikiProject Apps. I've noticed that you are also in this group. Do you want to take a look and give me your feedback?

Best regards, --Coel Jo (talk) 13:46, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Coel Jo, I took a look at Swift Playgrounds and I think there are no particularly problematic issues with the article, perhaps the language could be made a bit more neutral but otherwise the article is great. When I get the chance I will take a look at Draft:Kiwaka and get it reviewed. Let me know if you have any more questions. Keep up the good work! -Liancetalk/contribs 17:29, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Please participate to the talk pages consultation

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

Open Beatz festival

I had a look at the article corresponding to the submission you declined at the German Wikipedia, and I noticed that it's using the same ref that I used. You said that that ref is invalid. Do you know if it's an issue that the ref is on the corresponding article? I understand if you can't explain. GOLDIEM J (talk) 16:57, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi GOLDIEM J, I am assuming you are talking about your draft, Draft:Open beatz. The ref itself is okay at best, but it should not be used alone to establish notability. In order to be included in Wikipedia, articles must have multiple references that show coverage and are independent of the subject - the website you cited does not appear to meet this criteria. You should look to add some more references that are not as closely associated in order to establish notability. Please let me know if you have any more questions. -Liancetalk/contribs 19:14, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you. I actually have another question right now. How do you eat a sandwich?😂 #humour GOLDIEM J (talk) 20:49, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you!

Liance,

Thank you for guiding my article on Minnie Howard to the preferred location. Obviously, I'm very new, and I learn much more quickly through trial and error than through reading copious amounts of text. I'm taking the directive to "be bold" to heart. So, again, thank you for your assistance.

One question, I would like to make an alteration to formatting but when I submitted the article for review, the instruction asked that I don't change anything. As long as I don't change any of the text, can I still make the formatting change to bring the article in line with what I see as common practice?

Sincerely, MagicWellGilt73 (talk) 19:21, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Lonnie McFadden

Dear Liance:

Thanks for moving my Lonnie McFadden page to Draft:Lonnie McFadden. I understand I need to be patient, but I'm wondering if there is any information about the process of having pages accepted. This is the first page I've written, but my hope is to post pages for many Kansas City jazz musicians who have sufficient published material about them for creating pages. I'll feel much more comfortable moving forward with this project when they start to be posted. It's hard to know if the work is just disappearing.

I would be grateful for any information about how I might know if and when the page will be posted.

Many thanks, Anne AG Kansas City AG Kansas City (talk) 00:02, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi AG Kansas City, it appears that Draft:Lonnie McFadden is currently out of the review process, so it cannot be reviewed by an editor and potentially included in the Wikipedia mainspace until you resubmit it. An editor has declined your submission, and I recommend you take a look at the advice they provided and edit the submission based on that advice so that the draft fits Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. Once you feel that you are ready to re-enter the review process there should be a blue "Resubmit" button on your draft that you can click on. Hope this helps! -Liancetalk/contribs 00:12, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for moving my draft page to the right place. It's much appreciated! Will remember to do this in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Copystar (talkcontribs) 22:29, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Hello Liance,

This is not an appropriate draft since we already have an article Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation about the same topic, and drafts of improvements to existing articles should be in user space, not draft space. Please discuss with the author and move it back. Thanks. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:57, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I forgot to check the mainspace for the same article prior to moving it to the draftspace. Will definitely talk to the author about this. Thank you! -Liancetalk/contribs 04:19, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Headline change

Hello Liance, could you please change the headline of the draft "Draft:Serial Breadth-First-Search" to "Draft:Parallel Breadth-First-Search", because "Serial Breadth-First-Search" is the name of the first chapter only for brief introduction. Thanks a lot! --Kit unodc (talk) 15:12, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi Kit unodc, I have moved your draft to Draft:Parallel Breadth-First-Search. Please let me know if you need any more assistance. -Liancetalk/contribs 13:48, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Review of Draft:Aerofly_FS

Hello Liance, Thanks for your review but I have to admit that I really don't understand why you consider that my several references are not reliable or independent. They are famous and respected websites in the flight simulation world, I cannot see what I could provide better than them. Thanks for your help, Vincent (aka Turman on Wikipedia). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Turman (talkcontribs) 13:56, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi Turman, for inclusion on Wikipedia references must be reliable and significant. Though those websites do provide coverage of the subject I think more sources that provide coverage could be beneficial in establishing the subject's notability if possible, especially from those that may be prominent outside of flight simulation. Other editors have also left comments on your submission; you should look at those as well in revising your article. Hope this helps. -Liancetalk/contribs 14:22, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Draft article John R D'Alton

Hi Liance Thank you for helping out with my first article. I can't seem to find it in "Drafts" and it has gone from where it was when i last changed it. Can you please help me find it? Or is there a delay after you moved it?

Many thanks Paul S Stuart (talk) 01:39, 5 April 2019 (UTC) Paul S Stuart

Hi Paul S Stuart, it seems that your article submission was deleted by an administrator because it violated Wikipedia's copyright policies as a copy of [1]. If you wish to recreate the article you should ensure its content is not under copyright and can be freely used. -Liancetalk/contribs 12:28, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Moving page to another draft

Hi!

You told me this (below) about my page Samira Mustafaeva: April 2019[править] Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Samira Mustafaeva, from its old location at User:Рула Борзых/sandbox/Samira Mustafaeva. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. -Liancetalk/contribs 18:52, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Can u explain what means moving page from my sandbox to another draft? How long will it take to publish it to mainspace? And what I need to do to accelerate this process? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Рула Борзых (talkcontribs) 10:00, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Рула Борзых, your draft article is currently in the WP:Draft namespace which is where submissions are preferred to be kept. It used to be in your sandbox, but now at Draft:Samira Mustafaeva it will eventually be reviewed by an editor who will provide feedback and potentially publish the article. -Liancetalk/contribs 13:24, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Draft article John R D'Alton

Hi Liance Removing the article completely was a bit of a shock - I hope it is still available somewhere. I had checked with Engineers Australia which is one of the organisations shown on the Interpretation Panel and have had email correspondence with the key contributor. He told me that attributing the information to Engineers Australia would be sufficient. I would appreciate the opportunity to correspond with whoever removed the article to find out who else I should attribute to. Can you advise how I can do this?

Many thanks Paul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul S Stuart (talkcontribs) 03:59, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Paul S Stuart, your article was removed because it contained information that violated Wikipedia's copyright rules so unfortunately you won't be able to retrieve it. Information must be copyright-free (or under an acceptable Creative Commons license) even if an organization allows attribution. If you're interested RHaworth deleted your article, but as I said earlier content on WP must be free use. Hope this helps. -Liancetalk/contribs 16:29, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Can I work on multiple new articles

Hi Liance, Thanks for moving my SWaCH article to the draft namespace from my sandbox. I will continue to work on it over there. I'm a newbie on Wikipedia and wanted to know if I could start creating another (or multiple) new articles in my sandbox while the AoC submission process is underway for my first (SWaCH) article. If so I haven't been able to figure out how to do this and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks, Swmwash — Preceding unsigned comment added by Swmwash (talkcontribs) 06:37, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi Swmwash, you can definitely begin creating a new article draft, however I highly recommend creating them through the WP:Article wizard since they are placed in the Draft namespace, which makes it easier for reviewers to find and revise. If you wish to create more sandboxes you can always make a new page like User:Swmwash/sandbox2 which will generate a new page under your username. You can also blank the content from User:Swmwash/sandbox and start writing there if you'd like (it's currently a redirect). Please let me know if you have any more questions. -Liancetalk/contribs 16:22, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks Liance, this really helps! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Swmwash (talkcontribs) 06:39, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Draft article John R D'Alton

Hi Liance I contacted the person who removed my article due to a copyright issue through his email. He made his personal website and email available through the Wiki link so I thought I would use that to ask for help. His response was a bit curt and told me to use the Wiki channel with links. As I don't have anything up there at present I can't provide a link. He did at least send me a copy of my article he deleted.

My problem is this:

The Interpretation Panel information(a public display notice), that RHaworth found had some of the material on it that I used, was sent to me by a member of Engineers Australia (the professional body for engineers) who provided much of the content. I asked him whom I should acknowledge - all the signatories on it which included local and State Government organisations, or just Engineers Australia.

His response was: “I think you only need to attribute the panel contents to Engineers Australia.”

This is what I did.

If I now add the other organisations that had their logos on the panel, will that meet the standard?

The other issue that has been picked up is the portrait which is a photo taken by the same member of Engineers Australia who photographed an Interpretation Panel (maybe the same one). He said there was no information on the panel about the photo.

I need to know the correct protocol for handling all this.

This is my first attempt at a Wiki article and I want to get it (and hopefully others) right. I have discovered many tutorials but few are that helpful. Can you recommend one that covers all the basics?

Many thanks Paul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul S Stuart (talkcontribs) 09:27, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm not the most familiar with the copyright requirements of Wikipedia - WP:COPYRIGHT is pretty comprehensive and Wikipedia generally avoids using non-free content when available, unless it is under an appropriate open license. If it is possible for you to write original text for an article that would be highly preferred, even if you are given the permission to use text. If you need any additional assistance or specific copyright help you could always ask the WP:Help desk or WP:Teahouse. As for general help for a wiki article, WP:Your first article is a good start but as always don't be afraid to reach out to other editors and be bold. Biography of Michael H. L. Hecker

Dear Liance,

I believe that you have accidentally declined publication of my biography, thinking that it was a full-length article. (Please take into account that my biography is NOT an autobiography. It was originally proposed by my MIT professor and compiled by two of my former colleagues, who asked me to submit it.)

The text of my biography has already been reviewed and accepted by another editor (David notMD). With respect to my references, would it help if I included a list of my many publications? Please let me know specifically what I need to do so that you can remove your objection.

Sincerely, Michael H. L. Hecker. 7 April 2019. Michael H. L. Hecker (talk) 17:29, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

_______________
Hi Michael H. L. Hecker, the article you submitted to AfC at User:Michael H. L. Hecker/sandbox was denied because for an article on Wikipedia to be accepted it should have secondary, reliable sources. Wikipedia itself cannot be used as a reference, so it would help with your submission if you removed links to Wikipedia articles as references. Whenever you feel like your draft is ready again you can always resubmit it for review. A side note is that, even if your article isn't an autobiography its submission is generally frowned upon as the self-creation of an article can introduce problems with conflict of interest. Hope this help. -Liancetalk/contribs 19:40, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks again for your help. Michael H. L. Hecker 7 April 2019 Michael H. L. Hecker (talk) 00:44, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

When you feel you are ready there's should be a blue resubmit button near the top of your draft page. As you have a conflict of interest writing about yourself I strongly recommend disclosing your conflict of interest as per the link provided. -Liancetalk/contribs 01:13, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Not me

Liance - Not me. As a favor to a fellow MIT graduate, I looked at Hecker's draft. I repeatedly advised him that in my opinion what he submitted did not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. In part, I wrote that he was not referencing correctly, and that lots of content had no references. Hecker deleted all my comments on his Talk page. My last attempt at advice is at the bottom of my Talk page. David notMD (talk) 21:17, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Explanation

Dear David notMD and Liance,

David, I apologize for writing to Liance that you had approved the text of my biography. It was an incorrect assumption on my part. After you read my first draft, you advised me to provide references that would satisfy the notability requirements (for academics). Because, in my work, references are added at the end of an article, I thought that the text itself met with your approval. I did not understand what you meant. Now I know that the references have to be embedded in the text. That is why I have re-written and re-submitted my biography, hoping for a better outcome. Please excuse my former ignorance of “the rules”.

Sincerely, Michael H. L. Hecker. 15 April, 2019. Michael H. L. Hecker (talk) 15:38, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Dear Liance,

It appears that my successful career does not meet Wikipedia's high standards for notability. Therefore, I have removed My Biography from my Sandbox. Thank you for your help.

Hi, My page on copyright of memes was recently rejected for the reason that the subject matter already exists. I have searched for it and I don't think the subject matter already exists. There is a page on the EU Directive on copyright but that is different from the current piece as this talks about copyright in US and India. This article, as a standalone piece, gives a lot of information which is still not available on Wikipedia in a robust manner. If I club it with the existing page of internet memes it could create a lot of confusion because it provides information on the legal dimension of memes which deserves a separate page for those wishing to understand that aspect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DoYouEvenMemeBro (talkcontribs) 05:30, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi DoYouEvenMemeBro, I still feel like your draft may be better as an addition to Internet meme as it currently doesn't include any information on copyright, and it would fit well. You're welcome to continue working on your draft if you feel that it is notable enough to warrant an article on it by itself, however. I would recommend changing the lead section of your article to more clearly reflect that it discusses copyright on Internet memes, not Internet memes in itself. Hope this helps. -Liancetalk/contribs 17:52, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Request on 19:34:42, 29 April 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Skropper

Skropper (talk) 19:34, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback on my proposed page 'Steve Kropper' Can I tap you for some guidance

I did some searches to document third party sources.

For a search on Steve Kropper and the company I founded WindPole, there are 10,300 results of which I believe about 500 are relevant to my work developing data sets that help finance wind power farms. For a search on Steve Kropper and the company I founded Domania, there are 11,800 results of which 1500 are relevant to the way I changed consumer access to real estate information. For a search on Steve Kropper and immigration, there are 45,000 results of which I’d guess over 10,000 are relevant to my work asking whether our immigration policies hurt poor Americans. For a search on Steve Kropper and Parallel Wireless there are 10,600 results of which a few thousand are news, video and other coverage of the pioneering work I have done bringing broadband communications to the public safety sector. There are only 27 news stories about how I got 75 legislators in Massachusetts to ride public transit on the last day of winter to make them aware of the importance of proper system funding. There are thousands of other search results on my work in energy conservation, mass transit, advocacy for the Charles River in Boston, advocacy for children’s welfare.

Is the kind of citations you were taking about? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skropper (talkcontribs) 19:36, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Lonnie McFadden page

Hi, Liance: Many months ago I worked with a wiki-a-thon hosted by the library at the art museum in Kansas City, which promoted the creation of Wikipedia posts on African American artists from Kansas City. I submitted a page now called Draft: Lonnie McFadden. It was reviewed by Strauss in the House, and declined. The reason given was lack of inline citations. I corresponded with the reviewer and he said put in more inline citations. I did so. More than two months have passed. If I had a different reviewer would my piece be published? I just wonder if I've ended up on a dead end street, and if there is a way for me to have my piece indexed. Thanks for your help understanding what is going on.
