This article should really be merged with interjection, laughter or some similar higher-level article. Onomatopoeia is also not correctly defined here. This is not sound-mimicing, but of various renditions of contrived laugther. I wouldn't mind a redirect and some (very brief) information about it someplace else. Try not to leave a list of cultural references outside of text, though. Avoid liss. Mention the very earlies historical usage and some very prominent more recent examples. |

[edit]This article should really be merged with interjection, laughter or some similar higher-level article. Onomatopoeia is also not correctly defined here. bwahaha
[edit]Can we have more on the origins of the rendering bwahaha/muahaha (preferably citing earliest sources)? Njál 14:57, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Why isn't "Bwahaha" listed on as an example? After all the "Bwahaha" evil laugh is used greatly in media.I can't say which shows use the laugh but I'm pretty sure lots of people have heard a Bwahaha or two. 72.197.133.100 04:57, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- My personal favorite is Boris Badenov's "Beh-heh-heh!" --Bluejay Young (talk) 08:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Famous Evil Laughs
[edit]I feel this article needs a section on famous or notable instances of maniacal laughter. Items I'd recommend for this list are Vincent Price, who was mentioned earlier, The Shadow, who's notable for being a good guy with a famous maniacal laugh, and Dr. Evil, whose enjoyment of maniacal laughter borders on obsession. There is also Mandark from Dexter's Laboratory, whose laugh was so distinctive, they made a whole cartoon about it. The problem with such a section would be everyone and his mother would be adding their favorite maniacal laugh to the list. Legionaireb (talk) 22:16, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps a good guideline would be to only include evil laughs that are notable, that have good sources commenting about them and preferably identifying them as evil laughs. --TiagoTiago (talk) 05:20, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I think that the earliest and most recognizable "muahahaha" evil laugh is Mel Blanc's various maniacal Looney Toons efforts, notably Daffy Duck. See: http://www.wavsource.com/snds_2010-11-21_1584521671331348/tv/looney_tunes/daffy_evil_laugh.wav
