The historic main building of the Staßfurt train station, built in the 19th century, was demolished in 1977 after the ground under it (and under many other buildings in Staßfurt) was broken after failed mining activities. The historic main building of the Staßfurt train station, built in the 19th century, was demolished in 1977 after the ground under it (and under many other buildings in Staßfurt) was broken after failed mining activities. Read here. A historic locomotive depot in the near of the station is today a museum for historical rail vehicles.
