This is the WikiProject banner template used by WikiProject United Arab Emirates to keep track of articles within its scope. All articles are categorised into Category:WikiProject United Arab Emirates articles.

Basic usage

Place this on the talk page of relevant articles:

Parameters

• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
• listas – this parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for John Smith, use |listas=Smith, John so that the talk page will show up in the Smith's and not the John's of the various assessment and administrative categories. Similarly, for topics with titles beginning with an article such as "the" or "a" - e.g. for The Matrix, use |listas=Matrix, The so that the talk page will show up in the Matrix's. This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category. It is not required if another WikiProject template on the same page has its own {{para|listas}} set, since it affects the sortkey of all banners and templates.
• class – see #Quality assessment below.
• importance – see #Importance assessment below.

Notes and alerts

• attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention. This parameter populates Category:United Arab Emirates articles needing attention.
• imageneeded – to request that an image or photograph be added to the page.
• imagedetails – additional text to insert before the words "be added to this article" to describe the subject or type of image that is requested.

• Northern Emirates – set |Northern Emirates=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Northern Emirates. This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Northern Emirates articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Northern Emirates articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Northern Emirates-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to WikiProject Northern Emirates. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Northern Emirates articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Abu Dhabi – set |Abu Dhabi=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Abu Dhabi. This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Abu Dhabi articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Abu Dhabi articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Abu Dhabi-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to WikiProject Abu Dhabi. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Abu Dhabi articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Ajman – set |Ajman=yes if the article is supported by the Ajman work group. This parameter populates Category:Ajman articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ajman articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Ajman-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to the Ajman work group. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ajman articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Dubai – set |Dubai=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Dubai. This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Dubai articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Dubai articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Dubai-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to WikiProject Dubai. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Dubai articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Fujairah – set |Fujairah=yes if the article is supported by the Fujairah work group. This parameter populates Category:Fujairah articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Fujairah articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Fujairah-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to the Fujairah work group. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Fujairah articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Ras Al Khaimah – set |Ras Al Khaimah=yes if the article is supported by the Ras Al Khaimah work group. This parameter populates Category:Ras Al Khaimah articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ras Al Khaimah articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Ras Al Khaimah-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to the Ras Al Khaimah work group. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ras Al Khaimah articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Sharjah – set |Sharjah=yes if the article is supported by the Sharjah work group. This parameter populates Category:Sharjah articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Sharjah articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• Sharjah-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to the Sharjah work group. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Sharjah articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• Umm Al Quwain – set |Umm Al Quwain=yes if the article is supported by the Umm Al Quwain work group. This parameter populates Category:Umm Al Quwain articles.

Classification of redirects and disambiguation pages

If the |class= parameter is not defined and the WikiProject banner is placed on the talk page of a redirect (in any namespace) or disambigation page then it will automatically be classified as follows:

• Redirects will automatically be classified as Redirect-class and placed in Category:Redirect-Class United Arab Emirates articles.
• Disambiguation pages will automatically be classified as Disambig-class and placed in Category:Disambig-Class United Arab Emirates articles.

Classification based on namespace

In addition, if |class= is empty, undefined or unrecognized, then the class will be deduced from the namespace of the page when possible.
