I believe the date of his death should be either 19 or 20 BCE, not 29 as stated in the article. His biography in the History of the Former Han (Hanshu) states that he reigned for 33 years (Zhonghua shuju edition, p.3325). Loewe (Biographical Dictionary of the Qin and Former Han) gives his death-date as 20 BCE, so I would probably go with that. I assume 29 is an arithmetic mistake.EstherPark 17:01, 5 August 2006 (UTC) |

:Perhaps, perhaps not (part of the reason why it appeared natural is that, oddly enough, the Chinese term (巫蠱, wū gǔ) is phonetically not far from "voodoo." The practice also was very similar to some actual voodoo practices, in that dolls were used. Per your objection, however, I've changed it to "witchcraft." --Nlu (talk) 21:41, 24 November 2006 (UTC) |

Dates for Emperor Xuan's son Liu Yu (Prince of Dongping)
[edit]I believe the date of his death should be either 19 or 20 BCE, not 29 as stated in the article. His biography in the History of the Former Han (Hanshu) states that he reigned for 33 years (Zhonghua shuju edition, p.3325). - Perhaps, perhaps not (part of the reason why it appeared natural is that, oddly enough, the Chinese term (巫蠱, wū gǔ) is phonetically not far from "voodoo." The practice also was very similar to some actual voodoo practices, in that dolls were used. Per your objection, however, I've changed it to "witchcraft." --Nlu (talk) 21:41, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
