She was elected to the [[Provincial Assembly of the Punjab]] as a candidate of [[Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf]] (PTI) on a reserved seat for women in [[2018 Pakistani general election]]. She became a “Lota” (dissident) after going against the party directive to vote for incumbent Chief Minister of Punjab (Parvez Elahi) in January 2023. She was issued a show-cause notice for this offense. Her political career is now more or less over after being declared as a “Lota”.
