An older chiropody school had existed at Temple University until 1960 when it closed its doors.

The current campus was constructed in 1973 as the first campus in the United States dedicated solely to podiatric medical education. In 1998, the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine merged with [[Temple University]], thus becoming the "Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine."
