"President of the Internet" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect President of the Internet and has thus listed it for discussion. This discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 May 15#President of the Internet until a consensus is reached, and readers of this page are welcome to contribute to the discussion. Radiation dose chart: PNG or SVG

[edit]

There are two versions of the radiation dose chart: there's the PNG version that Munroe created, and an SVG adaptation created by User:Rama. Because this is an article about Munroe, I think it makes the most sense to use Munroe's original PNG version. The SVG adaptation is very nice and perhaps would make sense to use on an article about radiation. However, it is not a direct vectorization of Munroe's work; it has different colors and fonts, and some things are laid out a bit differently. Since this is an article about Munroe, it doesn't make sense to me to use someone else's chart about radiation doses when we could use Munroe's very own chart.

This article used to have the PNG version, but recently @Matr4x-404 changed it to the SVG version. I reverted with a short message about why I thought it didn't make sense, but Matr4x-404 changed it back again without any new explanation. Matr4x-404, could you please explain why you prefer the SVG version? Thanks, IagoQnsi (talk) 04:35, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you accidentally reverted it, sorry. Matr4x-404 (talk) 08:07, 10 October 2022 (UTC), I didn't see the edit summary[reply]
No worries, thanks for the quick reply! Cheers, IagoQnsi (talk) 23:50, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Influence

[edit]

Why does the “Influence” section only include the fact that a group of his readers requested that an asteroid be named after Munroe? SilverTheTerribleMathematician (talk) 12:26, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SilverTheTerribleMathematician, probably just because no one has gotten around to adding anything else to that section, or they couldn't find reliable sources for anything else. Is there something else you think belongs there? Aerin17 (tc) 16:28, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia vandalism- see "List of Collectables" talk page. 104.187.66.104 (talk) 01:59, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"a Renaissance Program"

[edit]

What the hell is that supposed to mean? A computer program written in a language called Renaissance? A computer program written several hundred years before computers were invented?86.190.224.83 (talk) 21:21, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

According to the article for the school itself: It was known as the Renaissance Program early in its history. Anyway, it's irrelevant in this article and as you point out, confusing, so I've removed it. Schazjmd (talk) 21:46, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
