An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect :President of the Internet and has thus listed it for discussion. This discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 May 15#President of the Internet until a consensus is reached, and readers of this page are welcome to contribute to the discussion. <!-- from Template:RFDNote --> Plantdrew (talk) 18:51, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
The following unsourced sentences were added recently to the section about the radiation chart by an anonymous IP editor:

They have since been adjusted and citation tags added. I have looked for evidence to support the claim that the chart has been criticised on these grounds, and have not found any. I am sure the chart can, and possibly has, been criticised, but I feel that the circumstances of its creation, the value that it does have, and the avowedly non-expert nature of its creator are adequately covered in the preceding paragraph, so I have removed these sentences. If there is encyclopedically significant criticism that should be acknowledged here perhaps someone can add it with appropriate citations. mooncow 14:23, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

:Well it's probably a moot point by now, but if Randall is comparing doses of an hour, two weeks, and a year; then I think this is extremely important and should be noted. This asteroid's only real notability is that is is named after Randall Munroe, and so it probab;y belongs as a part of that article rather than its own astronomical page. :I don't agree that information on an astronomical object is best presented on the biography of the person it's named after, even if the person it's named after is it's primary 'claim to fame'. ::I agree with Martijn, the 4942 article should remain a stub. A mention should be made in Randall's article, however, I feel an astronomical object should not be solely represented in the biography of its namer. :::Hmm, interesting question, but I disagree with "an astronomical object should not be solely represented in the biography of its namer."

:::If that's the only reason the asteroid is "famous", then yes, I think it should just be in Randall's page. And it only need be a single sentence, "An asteroid, 4942 MUNROE" Was named after him in 2003 [or whenever it was]." There are two versions of the radiation dose chart: there's the PNG version that Munroe created, and an SVG adaptation created by User:Rama. Because this is an article about Munroe, I think it makes the most sense to use Munroe's original PNG version. The SVG adaptation is very nice and perhaps would make sense to use on an article about radiation. However, it is not a direct vectorization of Munroe's work; it has different colors and fonts, and some things are laid out a bit differently. Since this is an article about Munroe, it doesn't make sense to me to use someone else's chart about radiation doses when we could use Munroe's very own chart.

"President of the Internet" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect President of the Internet and has thus listed it for discussion. This discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 May 15#President of the Internet until a consensus is reached, and readers of this page are welcome to contribute to the discussion. Radiation dose chart: PNG or SVG

[edit]

There are two versions of the radiation dose chart: there's the PNG version that Munroe created, and an SVG adaptation created by User:Rama.

This article used to have the PNG version, but recently @Matr4x-404 changed it to the SVG version. I reverted with a short message about why I thought it didn't make sense, but Matr4x-404 changed it back again without any new explanation. Matr4x-404, could you please explain why you prefer the SVG version? Thanks, IagoQnsi (talk) 04:35, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you accidentally reverted it, sorry. Matr4x-404 (talk) 08:07, 10 October 2022 (UTC), I didn't see the edit summary[reply]

"a Renaissance Program"

What the hell is that supposed to mean? A computer program written in a language called Renaissance? A computer program written several hundred years before computers were invented?86.190.224.83 (talk) 21:21, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

According to the article for the school itself: It was known as the Renaissance Program early in its history. Anyway, it's irrelevant in this article and as you point out, confusing, so I've removed it. Schazjmd (talk) 21:46, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
