Year in title

[edit]

@JHunterJ: Re your rename, can we have the year back in the title? I think just "Kediri campaign" is too generic. Kediri is a city (the name can also refer to the region) and according to Kediri (city)#Kediri, the city changed hand many times throughout history, including via military conquest, and all those events could have been described as "Kediri campaign". I don't think the 1678 one could claim primacy over all the other ones. See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events)#Conventions which also says the majority of events should have the "what", "when", and "where" in the title (like 2011 Tōhoku earthquake or 1993 Russian constitutional crisis), unless the event has such a recognizable common name. Moved to a name with the year in the title, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events)#Conventions. Parenthetical qualifiers are only used for disambiguation. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:51, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We now have 1678 Kediri campaign, which makes it hard to find if searching for Kediri campaign. The latter is move protectes, while the former should be, to add to complications. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:03, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The redirect at Kediri campaign makes it easy to find when searching for "Kediri campaign", and follows the naming conventions (Tōhoku earthquake redirects to 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, Russian constitutional crisis redirects to 1993 Russian constitutional crisis). -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:13, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
