Her father is a Bosniak from Turkey, serbian media is willing to hide this. But a fool can see that her surname testifies of Bosniak heritage, denying this is not neutral. Ancient Land of Bosoni |
: Can people stop saying she is of turkish ancestry? she is a slavic with a father who was a bosniak , a muslim slav.. turkish is different |
Any fool...--Hadžija 00:25, 13 May 2007 (UTC) |
It does not mean that she is turk.. Many Bosniaks have moslem names and arent turkish, but slavic. How does this prove that she is turk or whatever? She is a south slav. maybe the last name is moslem but that just means her distant relatives converted for benefits during the ottoman empire |
:Actually, her father was an American Sheriff from the U.S.A., but Serbian worldwide propaganda manages to conceal this. Surnames don't necessarily mean much, and in this case very little. Both her parents (Rajko and Verica) have Serbian Christian names and there are many Serbian surnames derived from Turkish words, or even Turkish/Muslim names, although those who wear them are neither Turks, nor Muslims. First among those is Radovan Karadžić, Serbian president, nationalist and wanted (alleged) war-criminal, whose surname, common among Serbs, is derived of two turkish words: KARA - black, dark, and (H)ADŽIJA - the one who has visited Mecca, (or Jerusalem, if he were Christian). "Karadžija" is simply a nickname meaning "black adžija", and Karadžić a surname of his descendants. Among other frequent surnames derived from Turkish words are: Hadžić (from -hadžija), Amidžić (from -amidža, uncle), Imširagić (from name Imshir-aga), Memedović (from name Mehmed, Memed) etc. 212.200.56.13 02:13, 13 May 2007 (UTC) |

::Hm, it is stranege that Turk has a name Rajko, very very strange. Yesterday somebody wrote in the article that he is a emigrant from Turkey. I would say that chance that Turk has a name Rajko is the same that Serb has a name Muhamed - in other words - null. |

Today he showed up on RTS news talking (crying) how he proud is because Marija won the Eurovision contest for Serbia, so I do not think that there is *conspiracy of epic proportions* to hide Marijas father and his nationality. :What's with you conspiracy nutbags? Serbia is conspiring to hide some pop stars true identity? If they were going to waste time with conspiracies I think they would come up with something that would actually serve their ends. The identity of a singer isn't going to help establish a "Greater Serbia". |

"Well that is not true, everybody thought that. I am not that yet I maybe will be someday".<br /> |

Is it true she is lesbian ? I've seen that on a youtube comment. It would mean, she is the first lesbian and maybe the first homosexual to win a contest. Eurovision is definitly a place where there's more sexual liberty than on mtv... |
:Greek media show some innuendos concerning this and in a press conference a journalist said she is supported by women homosexuals. If something is verifiable about it, it should be mentioned in the article Pictureuploader 13:47, 13 May 2007 (UTC) |

:: If indeed it is yellow journalism, is it possible that they were talking about the song? After all, it is a song about homosexuality and prayer, and it was sung by her. Even if she isn't a lesbian, it is the first pro-homosexuality song (as far as I know) to win Eurovision, which says a lot about how far our society has come (In this part of the world at least). ::According to this Romanian article on GayOne.ro, she is lesbian: "Ea are un profil de dating pe site-ul Gay Serbia şi potrivit presei locale şi-a mărturisit homosexualitatea în faţa tatălui ei." This translates as "She has a dating profile on the Gay Serbia site and, according to the local press, she told her father about her homosexuality". "Your song means prayer, but do you pray for the relationship between two girls, or just two lovers? What does the song mean to you personally? |
Of course two lovers, it is a song about praying for love. I can’t see the difference between two girls, two boys, and two dogs. It is normal for me. I am thinking that no one needs to know what you, me or her do when we close the door to our bedroom. It is a strange thing that people wants to know, but it is a part of this business and I will just have to understand that, but yes, it is definitely a pray for love – song. Not for anyone special." == Song Stolen? == |
There have been claims by media in Britain and some other countries, that the winning song was actually stolen from an old Albanian song an that an ivestigation has been started. There is really great similarity, as far as the music is concerned, but in my opinion, a song does not consist only of music. What about the lyrics? Can anybody tell, which one of the songs is really older, maybe it is vice versa... |
The Albanian song : |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NvjII8_8AM |
:First, 'Ndarja' isn't an "old Albanian song". It is a ballad composed for Albanian female pop-singer Soni Malaj by Macedonian author Mariano Filipovski 2 years ago. Second, Filipovski himself discarded the amateur charges of Albanian press and stated for Macedonian press that Molitva and 'Ndarja' aren't at all the same song. Link (in Macedonian): http://www.idividi.com.mk/zabava/Showbiz/384398/index.html 212.200.56.13 21:15, 15 May 2007 (UTC) |

::Usually, there's plagiarization accusations for winning songs. I just read today that The Ark's song The Worrying Kind was accused of plagiarizing David Bowie's song Quicksand. I don't think these accusations are important, unless the European Broadcasting Union or some other major organization would claim the song as a plagiarization. I think such accusations are inevitable, considering so many songs have been written, before, and a lot of the songwriting in the contest is rather traditional. Apparently, carbon copies are not tolerated, but the tolerance for near copies seem pretty high. 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * 09:31, 16 May 2007 (UTC) |
