My name is Jackie Koerner. I have been a long time consumer of wiki content, but not a contributor. I tried editing in the past, but did not have a positive experience. Now that I am finishing my PhD, and have more free time, I figured I would give it another try!
=== About me ===
My name is Jackie Koerner. I have a PhD in Higher Education. I am an educator and advocate passionate about open work and accessibility. Regarding my research, I study complex social problems. I firmly believe in action and participatory research, with a love for ethnography.

I co-edited a collection of essays''Wikipedia @ 20: Stories of an Incomplete Revolution'' available at [https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/wikipedia-20 MIT Press] and is [https://wikipedia20.pubpub.org also available licensed CC BY-NC 4.0].
I am a strong believer in free quality knowledge for everyone. Education is a right, but sadly is still a privilege for so many. I love focusing on the at-risk and under-served populations in my research. My dissertation title is “A Phenomenological Study of the Experiences of Students with Disabilities during Higher Education.” I loved finding out about their personal experiences in higher education.
