After leaving Gourmet in January 2013, Buscemi launched the eponymous brand at Capsule Show in Paris in June 2013.

Buscemi is an American luxury brand conceptualized from high-end fantasy according to the jonbuscemi website. The products stem from Jon’s experiences in luxury culture, travel and [[retail]] consumption. Jon claims to be a consumer first and designer second. One of the keystone items in the collection is a footwear model, the 100mm, based on a rare purse. Footwear retails for around $800 and claim to be produced in limited quantities.<ref>http://www.gq.com/style/blogs/the-gq-eye/2014/07/-starting-a-shoe-company.html</ref> Other stuff in this collection were the deerskin leather wrapped skateboard valet, deerskin leather tie, 18k gold dog leash and leather coffee sleeve.

Jon Buscemi (/bˈsɛmi/ boo-SEM-ee, Italian: [buʃˈʃɛːmi]; born October 3, 1975) is an American fashion designer known for his work at Oliver Peoples, co-founding Gourmet,[1] and his eponymous brand Buscemi.[2] Jon Buscemi is a cousin of the famous actor Steve Buscemi.

Career

[edit]

After working on Wall Street,[3] Jon began to amass a very broad sneaker collection and soon took his hunt for very exclusive and limited edition sneakers world-wide.[4] Simultaneously, many of his skateboarding peers started their own brands in the street-wear and skate space. Through these industry connections, Buscemi was hired by skateboard footwear brand DC Shoe Co. USA to work on special projects.[5]

In 2006, Buscemi and two partners launched the footwear brand Gourmet.[6] During his tenure at Gourmet, the company raised controversy and fandom alike by releasing sneakers that took design cues from iconic sneaker silhouettes, such as the Air Jordan 7 and Air Jordan 11.[7] After leaving Gourmet in January 2013, Buscemi launched the eponymous brand Buscemi at Capsule Show in Paris in June 2013.[citation needed]
