The concert holds certain historical merit as the band became the first western rock band to play in the country. [[Fidel Castro]] was a part of the audience that day, and the band also managed to meet him before the concert. The title of the DVD comes from Castro's answer to the band: after the band had told him that the concert will be very loud, Castro answers that it cannot be louder than war.

Louder Than War is a concert film of the Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers' performance at the Karl Marx Theatre, Havana, Cuba on 17 February 2001. It was released on DVD on 24 September the same year by Epic Records.
