The plot reminds me of the novel ''My Brother's Keeper'' by [[Charles Sheffield]]: twin brothers, critically injured in a helicopter crash, are stitched together Frankenstein-style. The resulting composite thinks he is one of them, the other having died, and later learns that he has almost half of his brother's brain.
