Nasio emigrated from [[South America]] to [[France]] in 1969 where he worked with [[Jacques Lacan]]. He was a professor at the University of Paris VII [[Sorbonne]] and is considered one of the foremost commentators on Lacanian [[psychoanalysis]]. He was the first psychoanalyst to be inducted into the prestigious French [[Legion of Honor]]. In addition to participating in Lacan's seminars and translating his ''Écrits'' into Spanish, he has authored numerous books in French and Spanish, and he is the director of the ''Seminaires Psychanalytiques de Paris,'' a major center for psychoanalytical training and the dissemination of psychoanalytical thought to nonspecialists.


He was a professor at the [[Paris Diderot University|University of Paris VII]] [[University of Paris|Sorbonne]] for 30 years from 1971<ref name="UNT" /> and for three years had a seminar in the [[école Freudienne de Paris]] (1977-1980). Juan-David Nasio (born 1942 in Rosario, Argentina) is an Argentinian psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and writer. He is one of the founders of Séminaires Psychanalytiques de Paris.

Biography

After qualifying as a doctor from the University of Buenos Aires, Nasio completed his residency as a psychiatrist at the hospital in Lanús.[1] In 1969, he emigrated to France where he attended the classes of Jacques Lacan. In May 1979, he did a course about the theme "subject of the unconscious" in the seminar of Lacan.[citation needed]

He was a professor at the University of Paris VII Sorbonne for 30 years from 1971[1] and for three years had a seminar in the école Freudienne de Paris (1977-1980). After its dissolution in 1980, he founded the Séminaires Psychanalytiques de Paris (1986). He received the French Legion of Honour.[2]

In addition to participating in Lacan's seminars and translating his Écrits[3] into Spanish, he has authored numerous books in French, which have since been translated in 13 languages.[citation needed]
