Hood River Valley athletic teams compete in the [[Oregon Schools Activities Association|OSAA]] 5A-1 Northwest Oregon Conference.
The Hood River's Girls Water Polo team won back to back state championships in 2016 and 2017. They won a third state championship in 2019, after taking second in 2018. The Water Polo program was only established in 2014, meaning that HRV won 3 state championships in five years. The water polo team brags a lot (lowkey, of course), but they're insanely underfunded, so it's fine. <ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.hoodrivernews.com/sports/hrv-girls-water-polo-wins-back-to-back-state-titles/article_a6f54b87-50ea-54d1-bf84-ceb292323f41.html|title=HRV girls water polo wins back-to-back state titles}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.hoodrivernews.com/sports/hrv-s-girls-water-polo-wins-third-title/article_d62f5d2c-0af2-11ea-80ee-5fb1d3eee793.html|title=HRV's girls water polo wins third title}}</ref>
