Sarah Sutherland (born February 18, 1988)[1] is a Canadian-American actress, best known for her role as Catherine Meyer in Veep.
Early life, family and education
[edit]Sutherland was born in Los Angeles to actor Kiefer Sutherland and his first wife, Camelia Kath. She is the granddaughter of Canadian actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, and great-granddaughter of Canadian politician Tommy Douglas.[2] She has an older half sister named Michelle Kath (from her mother's marriage to Terry Kath) who is married to actor Adam Sinclair.[3]
As a teen, Sutherland trained at the Crossroads Drama Conservatory in Los Angeles, before heading to New York to study at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.[4] In her final semester, she wrote and acted in a one-woman play, The Skin of a Grape.[2]
Career
[edit]With her Veep castmates, Sutherland won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for the series' sixth season.[5]
