Tafila Technical University was first established in 1986 as Tafila Community College (TCC) with the goal of graduating skilled technicians in different professions to satisfy the labor market requirements after a 2-year course of theoretical learning and practical training. In 1997, TCC became part of Balqa Applied University (BAU) and called Tafila College for Engineering Professions (TCEP). The goals, however, remained the same as well as the faculty members; yet, putting the college under the umbrella of BAU attracted more fund from donating organizations, a matter that helped in modernizing teaching instruments and training facilities. |
