The Glessert was founded in 1692 and was originaly called West Quarter, Peeople from the Glesset have been said to originate from Chapelton. During a depression, It is said that a fight broke out between the village that the chapeltonites were below them as they had a backword way of life and still believed it was acceptable for siblings to be married to each other. Many of the people were outraged at this statement and decided to form they're own village which we know today as the Glessert. |
