The film is the second film remake of the murder-mystery film ''[[Secret of the Blue Room]]'' (1933), following ''[[The Missing Guest]]'' (1938). The original American film was itself a remake of the German film ''[[Secret of the Blue Room (1932 film)|Secret of the Blue Room]]'' (1932). This remake follows the same plot, but adds comical songs. In the film, a young couple investigate a murder which took place in their own house.
