Someone added the following on YPT: "must be re-certified every three years." Can we have a citation for this? I have yet to see anything in writing specifying how often one must retake YPT. I've heard 2 years tossed out. All I ever see is you must have 'current' certification, but no definition (ie years) for that. --Emb021 16:58, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

:I added the three years: I took the online certification and the certificate shows three years. Darned if I can find a specific reference online (although it passes Google test). I'll look for a real reference. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 18:28, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

::Interesting. I've done the online cert several times and never seen a 3 year experation. My frequent requests for written policy on how often YPT must be done as always been ignored (or unanswered). --Emb021 16:09, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
::I can't find anything at home. I have a Wood Badge Staff conference tomorrow: I'll check with our DE. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 17:09, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
:::Per Ask Andy there is nothing in writing. I'm going to change it to "per local council policy" until we can come up with something better. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 15:28, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Is this the same as the old Explorer Scouts?
--Purpleslog 15:37, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Venturing is a spin-off of Exploring. See the Venturing section in History of the Boy Scouts of America. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 18:40, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

:I view modern day Venturing as the direct descendant of the old high adventure Exploring posts.Rlevse 20:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Canadian Venturers
I edited the canadian section to be more complete, however I did not include anything related to badges. I will add that in soon.
