The '''National Junior Honor Society''' ('''NJHS''') is an international student organization that consists of chapters in [[middle school]]s (grades 6–8). The National Junior Honor Society teaches students how to become a leader, also NJHS helps students learn good citizenship to use later on in their life. Being in the Honor Society allows children to further their education with many opportunities. The students in the program are carefully picked by their representation of the ladder standards. For the scholarship standard, the student scholar must have a minimum GP(Grade Point Average) of 3.0. This, however, can vary between schools.

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) was established by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 1929. The NJHS was established "to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; to encourage responsible citizenship; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools."[1] The first chapter was established in Webster Groves High School in Webster Groves, Missouri.

Its headquarters are located at 1904 Association Drive in Reston, Virginia.[2]
