==Picture== |

So does anybody ever plan on changing that picture? It's more than a decade old and he frankly looks much better now than he did in '04. My opinion, obviously. I don't contribute to Wikipedia anymore, the bureaucracy ruined it for me, but it would be more appropriate to have an image of 2016 Graham, wouldn't it? I was under the impression that images of people "in their prime" so to say, were reserved for the deceased. == Schooling == |

I removed the section stating that his school was a 'single sex school'. It may well be true, but I disliked the way someone included that as if to allude something sinister went on there, just because he is gay. It's not relevant to the article in the slightest and does not make a blind bit of difference to anything, IMO. 213.218.238.225 19:58, 5 March 2007 (UTC) |

i think that this article should include the fact that whilst graham was being mugged years ago he was stabbed and nearly died Risteard B 00:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC) |

If you're going to add it, at least add it in a coherent fashion. When I read it I thought someone had vandalized the article writing that he was dead. IMDB is also not a reliable source. Ryokashi (talk) 22:27, 26 June 2009 (UTC) |

==Church of Ireland?== |
|||
I'm surprised to read that he is a "member" of any church, since in his autobiography he says that he had only a very brief relationship with religion, and that as a child. Is the contributor sure Norton is a member of a church? It seems "so" unlike him. -88.110.176.254 09:06, 2 August 2007 (UTC) |

I've removed that bit, since not only in his autobiography but also in the interview linked on the article, he says he's not religious. -88.110.174.194 15:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC) |

On this island as in many other parts of the world many people claim to be Protestant, Catholic or whatever but aren't religious. Ireland is full of such people, heck i'm one of them. Unless he has publically said that he left the Church of Ireland and is actively agnostic or Atheist then it should remain. I myself was a member of the Church of Ireland but am publically Atheist. Is Graham Norton openly gay? The reference given (reference 10) is not a reliable source for this. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.230.146.15 (talk) 22:04, 13 June 2011 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot--> |

::It doesn't state that he is openly gay, it's asking a question about the effects of "openly gay celebrities such as Julian Clary and Graham Norton". The choice of Clary as a the other example, along with the context of the book, suggests that it's really referring to people who are flamboyantly camp, who act in a stereotypically "gay" way in the media. There are plenty of celebrities who make no secret of being gay, but who do not play up to such stereotypes -- they are not mentioned in the question, but the two best known camp British celebrities are. The author of the book presents no citation for Norton being gay, and I suspect it might be just an assumption based on his personal style. Not, perhaps, and unreasonable assumption, but I would only consider someone to be "openly gay" if they have at some time specifically stated that they are, rather than just dropping hints and innuendos. If he is openly gay, there must be other, more direct references out there: interviews, profiles, quotes. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.121.17.123 (talk) 17:45, 14 June 2011 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot--> |

:::OK, I've found some better references that actually back up his being gay with quotes and information, rather than referring to him as a "gay celebrity". I don't know which one is the most "reliable source" -- comments? http://www.astabgay.com/KingsOfCamp/GrahamNorton.htm http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news/articles/2005-1240.html/ http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news/articles/2005-1295.html/ <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.121.17.123 (talk) 17:53, 14 June 2011 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot--> |

::::The first of those is definitely a poor source. The other two, coming from the same online news site, lack the authority of a published textbook. I'd prefer the current source over any of them. I don't agree with your assumptions about the author's decision to use Norton as an example of an openly gay man. Exok (talk) 18:12, 14 June 2011 (UTC) |

::::Actually, I've changed my mind. Reading more of the current source I think you may have a point that it is polemic, attempting to mount an argument about stereotypes. I apologise. Either of the two Pink News references you've found would be better.Exok (talk) 18:17, 14 June 2011 (UTC) |

This level-5 vital article is rated C-class on Wikipedia's content assessment scale. It is of interest to the following WikiProjects: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Guests
[edit]I don't really agree that Graham Norton's guests are specifically chosen to appeal to a gay and lesbian audience. He wouldn't have the durability or the ratings he's had if his appeal was just to gay and lesbian viewers. I want to modify that phrase.
Agreed. Most of his guests seem to be heterosexual anyway.
Defect
[edit]He then signed a huge contract to defect to the BBC on his return to the UK.
Why isn't defect linking to the right defect (probably the last), but just to the disambiguation page of defect?
TV appearances
[edit]Graham also made a cameo appearance on the U.S. show Queer Eye (For The Straight Guy) in one of the episodes set in England.
He also lent his voice to one of the living plastic models in the 2005 series of doctor who, thus making a brief cameo even though only his voice was heard and his body was not seen, so shall i add that into tv appearances?
Added tag
[edit]There are a lot of unreferenced citations, viz "performance as Father Noel proved a massive hit with viewers", "His Channel 4 programmes have won a record number of comedy awards." etc - some of it also reads like an autobiography. Need a separate article on Scott Michaels
