| Hawthorn lost a rare game in Tassie, their inaccurate kicking proving costly against the superior Kangaroos outfit. Missing key players (Franklin and Mitchell), also proved severely costly. Beau Dowler played his first match for season 2007, and kicked his first two goals in his AFL career. Travis Tuck, son of Hawthorn legend Michael Tuck, debuted and it seemed like a good decision to reveal a new player to AFL football. Kangaroos by 37 points - 16.12.108 to 10.11.71

| Hawthorn left their biggest and most disappointing loss to the end of the season, going down in embarrassing circumstances to a struggling Sydney Swans outfit. Trailing 14 goals to 3 at half time, the Hawks were never in the contest, with only a little burst in the 3rd quarter avoiding a complete white wash. A costly loss for the Hawks, as it denied them a spot in the top 4. The Hawks must now play an in-form Adelaide Crows in an Elimination Final at the Telstra Dome. | The Hawks, playing in their first finals series since 2001, were in for a hard game against Adelaide who were favourites to win. Adelaide pulled away a few times in the match, but the Hawks were able to close the gap on multiple occasions. In the last term they stepped it up a notch, with Lance 'Buddy' Franklin kicking the winning goal with 7 seconds left to finish with 7 goals for the day. Shane Crawford had a standout game and Luke Hodge was very courageous, playing a terrific game with a knee injury. They now play the Kangaroos next week at the MCG. Hawks by 3 points - 15.15.105 to 15.12.102

| In the last games for Veterans Joel Smith, Ben Dixon and Vandenberg, Hawthorn had a worse than average performance, with a comparatively high error rate, not at all helped by young star Lance Franklin's 5 free kicks against him. Failing to bring the ball to the forwards they allowed the more skilled Roos to run out victors. Kangaroos by 33 points. 14.9.93 to 8.12.60.
