== Faculties ==
It's a private university that was founded in 2005 by a number of Academics, Arab, Syrian and foreign Business men and trade unions. It was created under Presidential Decree No. 193 Date 06/05/2005. Located on the road between Damascus and Daraa, at about 37 kilometres from Damascus. The whole area of the campus is 711,000 square meters. The AIU future plans involve constructing many other buildings. It seeks to make a campus which is especially distinctive in form and size. AIU offers Bachelor degrees and will soon offer Master degrees. It has international exchange programs on various levels – academic, cultural and scientific – with several countries. AIU is thus an exciting and growing institution and will graduate its first students in the summer of 2009.

As an institution of higher education and academic research, the Arab International University strives to prepare a generation of university graduates for excellence in their studies by giving them the care and attention in research and necessary resources. AIU aims to provide the means to emerge a higher advanced learning environment and ensure high quality. The University also aims to be active in community service and to provide quality disciplines for it, contributing to the development and modernization of higher education on a national level. AIU also aims to build a bridge for exchange in scientific and cultural cooperation between Syria and International countries, as with the European union. AIU gives attention to helping graduates during their studies and in finding jobs after graduation. It aims to create a learning environment through superior and effective communication with the students though academic advising excellence and encouraging outstanding students.

== Accreditation ==
The Arab International University's private institution of higher education systems and school plans are approved and certified by the Ministry of Higher Education in the Syrian Arab Republic as it applies to the diplomas of students and thus qualifies the university's local distinction. As for the university's foreign reliability, AIU is linked to agreements with numerous European universities that have together gained the mutual recognition of prestigious awards and reputation. Thus allowing for graduates and students of AIU to follow-up studies in these universities. The University continues its efforts to expand its conventions to include a larger number of foreign universities adhering to high principals.

The Arab International University (AIU); Arabic: الْجَامِعَةُ الْعَرَبِيَّةُ الدَّوْلِيَّةُ, romanized: al-Jāmiʿat al-ʿArabīyat ad-Dawlīyah (previously: Arab European University) is a Syrian private university located in Ghabaghib, Daraa Governorate, Syria, founded in 2005. It was created under Presidential Decree No. 193 on the 06/05/2005.[2]

The campus is located on the international highway between Damascus and Daraa, 37 kilometres (23 miles) away from the capital, and after International University for Science and Technology[3] toward Daraa. The total area of the campus is 211,000 square metres (52 acres).[4]
